The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) 777X program is seeking a high performing Senior Design Technician to join the structural design team in Berkeley, MO. This senior level Design Technician will be a significant contributor to the effort of maintaining the engineering product definition and ensuring that the product is meeting safety, quality, regulatory and full rate production requirements. The candidate will be expected to have excellent written and oral communication skills as coordination with multiple functions across multiple sites is common. The ideal candidate will have a background in structural design, including 3D modeling and 2D drafting experience; experience in production support working alongside various engineering support functions to improve product quality and throughput; develop solutions to a variety of complex problems; and have the ability to work under minimal supervision.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Contributes to the development and maintenance of engineering product definition with minimal supervision.
  • Coordinates design layouts and the modification of existing designs to satisfy customer and production requirements.
  • Develops engineering product definition based upon Company requirements and parameters.
  • Coordinates development of engineering product definition with internal/external parties to ensure compliance with applicable standards, requirements and design parameters as well as product functionality.
  • Integrates work statement, work scope and work transfer packages with internal and external customers to requirements.
  • Investigates and resolves complex manufacturing process or engineering related issues.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• 6+ years of aircraft structural design experience

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Associate’s degree or higher

• Experience working Boeing Commercial Programs

• CATIA V5

• Enovia Product Lifecycle Management Software

• Experience in Composites Design and 2D Drafting

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 6 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+4 years related work experience, 8 years related work experience, etc.).

Relocation:

This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Summary pay range: $75,650 - 102,350
