Boeing’s Space, Intelligence and Weapon Systems (SI&WS) Division of the Defense, Space and Security (BDS) Business Unit is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead an innovative and diverse team of managers and engineers organized to design, develop and produce electronics and special test equipment for the Electronics Capability organization based in Huntsville, AL. You will be responsible for capability leadership, which includes people, processes and tools to develop and produce complex electronics hardware, along with associated special test equipment.

As the Huntsville Electronics Capability Department leader, you will manage several front-line and mid-level managers and support the SI&WS Electronics Director in creating a capability that will develop and produce complex electronics hardware and supporting special test equipment. Developing and managing diverse and detailed processes for every aspect of electronics hardware development, production and test, as well as the associated tools, are major tenants of the job, along with building a multi-skilled and talented team.  As part of our SI&WS Division, you will be joining a team of skilled managers in the Electronics family that promote open communication and technical acumen amongst leaders and engineers.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop an Electronics Capability in Huntsville, AL, capable of developing and producing diverse electronics hardware, along with special test equipment.
  • Develops and maintains rigorous processes to accomplish the above goal.
  • Creates strategies for adopting and using standard tools to facilitate work.
  • Recruit and retain electronics skills needed for said capability.
  • Manages, engages, develops and motivates first-level managers and TLEs performing engineering and technical activities.
  • Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures, and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, and objectives.
  • Acquires resources for department activities, provides technical management and leads process improvements.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
  • Develops bids for new business efforts by providing conceptual design approaches and labor estimates.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, tools and processes.
  • Drives employee performance development, hiring, and staffing projections.

This position is expected to be 100 onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

Work Authorization:

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.  An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
  • 10+ years of Engineering experience.
  • Experience in engineering management.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Master’s degree or higher highly preferred.
