Senior Fuel Systems Engineer

Warton, Lancashire (hybrid working 1-2 days per week onsite) – 12 month duration – Pay rate 37 p/h PAYE basic (42.38 p/h including holiday pay) or 48.82 p/h Umbrella

The role is for a Senior Fuel System Engineer working within the Flight Sciences Future Aircraft Fuel System Team. The successful applicant will be required to support up to three aircraft programmes, providing Fuel System specialist knowledge and experience to the tasks they are allocated.

The role requires a Fuel System Engineer with strong experience in either military or civil aircraft fuel systems. This is a hybrid role, with a period of ‘onsite’ working alongside the wider team of 1-2 days per week. In addition, the successful applicant will be required to support meetings, as required, remotely using the Skype tool.

Typical responsibilities will include:

  • Fuel System detail design and analysis using several modelling and simulation toolsets.
  • Review of aircraft system equipment supplier documentation.
  • Development of system test procedures.
  • Generating responses to system problem reports.
  • System safety analysis (e.g. FHA & FTA).
  • Requirement management (including verification against requirements) in support of system clearances.
  • The Fuel System Engineer will also be required to support the activities being undertaken by other team members, providing them with advice/guidance as required and periodic system maturity reviews.

Requirements:

  • Proven ability gained as a Fuel Systems Engineer, having worked on either military or civilian aircraft fuel systems.
  • Knowledge of Requirement Management using DOORS or CAMEO.
  • Knowledge of system analysis using MATLAB/Simulink or Siemens AMESIM software.
  • Safety analysis (e.g. in accordance with ARP4761) using FHA and FTA techniques (Reliability Workbench or similar).

Please note, due to the sensitive nature of the projects involved, all candidates must be capable of gaining a UK MOD Security Clearance to SC level. If you are not currently SC cleared the client will sponsor a new application and you can start while this is pending.

This role shall operate inside IR35.
