Description:Lockheed Martin Missiles & Fire Control is seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer with image processing and photogrammetry experience to develop components of an advanced geospatial processing system. As part of Lockheed Martin’s Geospatial Technology team, the successful candidate will work within a team to design, develop, deliver, and support software that solves our customers’ varied challenges. The position can be full-time remote with location preferences in North Carolina, Colorado or Northern Virginia.



RESPONSIBILITIES

Work within an Agile software team to design, prototype, implement and deliver software solutions

Support algorithm development in the areas of image processing, manipulation and photogrammetry requirements

Support process improvement, automation, and machine learning initiatives and practices to advance image data processing and analytics

Investigate and identify new and emerging image processing technologies

Implement a unit test plan to validate completed features

Document software design and use
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Master’s degree.

Experience in applied image processing and scientific analysis of imagery, knowledge of image formation, and associated discipline phenomenology

Experience in processing space-based and airborne imagery data from Civil and Commercial imaging systems, proficiency with techniques, algorithms, and scientific analysis of associated discipline data processing

C++/Python programming experience

OpenCL/CUDA/OpenCV experience
Desired Skills:
Experience with EO, SAR, IR, Spectral, LiDAR data and photogrammetry

Experience in modeling and simulation

Knowledge of sensor imaging systems, products, and exploitation processes including the tasking, collection, processing, exploitation and dissemination of imagery

Understanding and application of image quality standards (e.g. NIIRS), scales, metrics and image quality equations

MATLAB, Intel IPP/MKL/DPCC, Restful API

Experience with geospatial tools (GlobalMapper, ArcGIS, GDAL, ENVI, Erdas Imagine, SOCET GXP, etc.)

Amazon Web Services (AWS), cloud architectures, Microsoft HPC

Database development (SQL/Amazon RDS), API development

Experience working in Linux HPC environments

Technical documentation, Software testing

Experience working in a DoD or IC operational environment

Takes ownership of results

Ability to work well within a team

Eager to dig into new topics

Ability to turn research into working solutions

Excellent communication skills

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $98,800 - $186,100. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, or Washington is $85,900 - $164,600 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidates work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
