Position Summary
MAG Aerospace is seeking to hire a Senior Network Engineer to support modernization efforts on-site at our lab facility in Augusta, GA.
The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining the information technology systems for our DoD customer.
*This role is contingent upon award and part of a surge support effort, intended for the augmentation of existing personnel in response to increased mission demand.*
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support tasks as it relates to system testing, integration, and configuration of multiple platforms
- Work with and test equipment and software from multiple vendors:
- VMWare ESXi, Microsoft Windows and Office Products
- RedHat Linux, Palo Alto Firewalls, and Panorama
- Dell, PacStar IQCore Server and Client, REDCOM Sigma
- CISCO Virtual Routers and physical switches
- DTECH M3X and SRVR5
- Themis XR-6, PowerShell, and Wireshark
- Provide an evaluation of software/hardware versions and updates in terms of capability and network/system impact to determine its interoperability with the existing systems and software
- Design diverse networking technology and protocols, including:
- H.323, G.711, G.729 for voice networking
- OSPF routing
- MGRE tunnel routing and Layer 3 switching
- Implement and utilize VMware ESXI to manage virtual machines running a virtual environment, Performance Enhancement Proxy, QOS Edge Device, Windows Server for Active Directory, Palo Alto Firewall, Palo and Alto Panorama
- Travel to Fielding Sites to provide on-site systems engineering support
- Create lab network architecture to support interconnectivity as well as update lab design and networks quarterly to match the architecture of systems fielded by the U.S. Army
- Produce and review hardware and software technical documentation reflecting detailed tactical network products and systems (documents include software baseline, software version descriptions, detailed technical publications, installation guides, build procedures, white papers, and software incident reports)
- Participates in creation, review, or update of contract deliverable documents (CDRL), submitting status reports weekly and monthly

Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- In-depth hands-on experience with network diagnostic, monitoring and analysis tools (e.g. SolarWinds, PACSTAR IQ-Core, Wireshark and other network tools)
- In-depth experience with routing protocols to include, but not limited to, TCP-IP, UDP, OSPF, OSPFv3, VRF, ICMP
- In-depth knowledge of Switching Architecture (VLANs, STP, Port Security, Layer 3)
- In-depth experience and understanding of multiple network products and operating systems (e.g. Juniper JUNOS and vSRX, Cisco catalysts switches, CSR 8k virtual router, ISR/ASR series routers, IOS XE, NX-OS, Palo Alto firewalls and PAN-OS)
- In-depth knowledge of Virtual Environments
- Ability to transition seamlessly between different Program of Records
- Solid understanding of Active Directory and TPKI
- Ability to test and configure new products with minimal to no instructions or supervision
- REDCOM Data, voice, video, telephony integration experience
- In depth experience of Virtual Environments, to include Hyper V, ESXi, Oracle KVM, and vSphere
- Ability to troubleshooting systems using the OSI Model as well as other IT industry accepted methods
- Ability to work independently as well as with a team
- Organizational and mentoring skills
- Experience with Systems/Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) or systems engineering lifecycle
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline
Clearance
- Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
Desired Qualifications
- Proficiency with VMWare ESXi and Linux
- Experience with Army tactical communications configuration items and systems baseband, transport, switches, routers, servers, ethernet and fiber optic standards
- Quick learner, creative, analytical thinker, resourceful, and able to work in a multidisciplinary team environment

Salary at MAG Aerospace is determined by various factors including but not limited to location, the particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $80,000 to $134,000 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of MAGs total compensation package for employees.
