The Compression Systems Engineering (CSE) organization is seeking a Senior Principal Structures Engineer to join the military Fan and HPC teams. This position will provide opportunities to apply your engineering judgement and leadership skills, as well as using your creativity and critical thinking skills in different phases of the design analysis process. This role offers growth opportunities to become a future CSE discipline Chief or Fellow.
What You Will Do
- Provide structural technical expertise to various members of different military CIPTs in areas of fan and compressor strength, durability, damage tolerance, vibrations, aeromechanics and probabilistic analysis.
- Help to train and coach engineers in area of expertise.
- Support critical technical issues across programs.
- Provide additional leadership for method/tool/Engineering Standard Work (ESW) improvements.
- Provide vibration, fatigue & fracture mechanics expertise to support internal & external customers on structural engineering of new designs, engine development plans, and production / field issues.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Bachelor Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering or in a related Engineering degree and 10+ years of prior relevant engineering experience, OR
- Advanced Degree in a related field and 7+ years of prior relevant engineering experience.

What We Offer
Compression Systems Engineering (CSE)
Compression Systems Engineering is responsible for the design, development, and in service support of all fans low-pressure and high-pressure compressors for commercial and military engine models. CSE is responsible for the identification and maturation of new technologies for these products.
Technical disciplines in CSE include Project Engineering, Mechanical Design, Structural Analysis, and Product Definition.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
