ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Solution Design & Development
- Ensure the creation, presentation, and successful implementation of engineering projects originating externally from customers and internally from Daher’s continuous improvement culture.
- Utilize a solid understanding of and experience with project management principles and structures ensuring projects are quoted, monitored, and delivered on time and within budget.
- Manage team members productivity in support of the project schedule. projects.
- Lead key engineering projects as needed.
- Learn and refine the department methodology and company best practices creating/validating processes, defining labor/capital costs, utilizing existing solution tools.
- Create & execute a department vision to improve team structure, resource application, and team member development. Create a transparent tracking methodology to report department development progress, identify challenges, and suggest solutions to ensure continued progress.
- Evaluate, mentor, and develop engineering team members ensuring maximum participation, productivity, and performance.
- Client Project Focus & Relationship Management:
- Collaborate with clients to understand their logistics challenges and business objectives.
- Develop tailored solutions that address client needs while optimizing efficiency, cost, and service levels.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during the solution development and implementation phases.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring satisfaction and fostering long-term partnerships.
- Conduct regular reviews with clients to assess program performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Analyze the effectiveness of implemented solutions and recommend enhancements to improve efficiency and performance.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices to drive innovation in logistics solutions.
- Lead initiatives to improve internal processes and methodologies for solution development.
- Other Relevant Skills
- Practical knowledge of and experience with innovation / automation principles, capital equipment, and implementation in a supply chain / warehousing environment.
- Industrial experience related to supply chain / logistics management with a focus on contract logistics / warehousing activity. Aerospace experience a plus.
- Experience using “solutions” software to create, cost new projects and evaluate existing processes and services. Strong understanding of processes and process takt times.
- Financial acumen.
- Presentation experience involving customer participants, internal team participants, and executive stakeholders.
- Proven LEAN experience applied to a supply chain, logistics, and preferably a 3PL environment.
- The ability to work effective with a wide range of internal colleagues from floor team members, other departments (ex Operations, Quality, HR, etc), and executive management.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- On-site position located in the Mobile, AL metropolitan area.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in solution design preferably with a 3PL company.
- College degree preferred (supply chain, logistics, industrial engineering, business or related subject matter focused on critical thinking development)
- Experience in developing and implementing complex logistics solutions with a focus on warehousing / contract logistics.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong team building, interpersonal, and excellent communication skills.
- Proficiency in project management and logistics software tools.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure.
- Salary commensurate with relevant experience.
- Potential travel up to 25.
