The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Senior Project Engineer - C-17 International Engineering to join their team in Warner Robins, GA. The C-17 Globemaster 3 Sustainment program is well positioned to provide long-term growth opportunities and is committed to an employee focused culture and presence at the Warner Robins site. This position provides support and services to the C-17 Foreign Military Sales (FMS) community.

A successful candidate will be a resourceful and self-motivated individual who displays intellectual curiosity while expecting and delivering results with urgency. This individual must work well under minimal supervision and general guidance, and be able to integrate effectively with key stakeholders to meet program objectives. They must have a proven track record of effective team building and customer relations. Serves as a role model in describing expectations, goals, requests, or future states in a manner that provides clarity and excites interest. Proactively seeks, gives, and summarizes information; consistently ensures that the situation/issue at hand is understood. Collaboratively determines courses of action to realize mutual goals and  facilitates agreement on each partners responsibilities.

Position responsibilities:

  • Coordinate resolution of technical, safety and airworthiness issues across diverse teams, which includes Customers, Boeing international subsidiaries, Boeing C-17 program office, USAF C-17 system program office, and the various functional groups critical to the program’s performance

  • Prepare and present briefings and reports to Boeing management and senior customer leadership. Communicates program information across multi-disciplinary teams

  • Lead and work closely with C-17 project managers and technical staff on projects from proposals through execution

  • Provide business and integration leadership for the development and execution of project or team plans. Works under minimal direction

  • Identify FMS-unique impacts that originate from C-17 configuration changes, and lead efforts to successfully integrate these changes

  • Support airworthiness, safety and regulatory requirements and meetings with reports, compliance matrices, and audits

  • Define plans for risk mitigation and opportunity capture

  • Ensure export requirements and export licenses are in place to support international customers

  • Provides products and services that meet the highest quality standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies and processes and embrace first-time quality

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.  This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics

  • 4&43; years experience in a DoD aerospace project or engineering capacity

  • 10&43; years of experience interacting with internal and external stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Active US Security Clearance

  • Exposure to Sustainment Programs (military or commercial aircraft)

  • Experience in USG DoD acquisitions programs

  • Experience in program and project requirements and management

  • Experience in a role that required strong communication skills and working across teams to coordinate customer issues and work scope

  • Experience providing support for Foreign Military Sales contracts

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary pay range: $114,750 – $155,250
