The mission of the software team in Huntsville, AL is to provide world-class software for our customers. We are looking to add software engineers to our development teams for a wide array of products including Battle Management, Command & Control, Communications, Effectors, Advanced Sensor Systems, and Surveillance and Warning systems.

What You Will Do
Participate in collaborative, cross-discipline integrated product teams, employ agile software development techniques and resources to develop, test, and integrate complex software and systems solutions for aerospace and defense applications
Assist and participate in the requirements, design, development and testing of real-time embedded software, application software, and tools, to include development of new work products or enhancement of existing applications and systems
Stay current with industry trends and advancements in modern languages, Artificial Intelligence (AI), DevSecOps, and other methodologies and technologies, especially in relation to complex systems
Work collaboratively with Systems and Integration Test Engineers to analyze, implement and test system
Qualifications You Must Have:
Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics and a minimum of five (5) or more years of relevant experience in software development, integration, and/or test using C++, Java, Ada or similar object-oriented software language.
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued interim secret security clearance is required prior to start. Note, only U.S. Citizen can obtain security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
Active Secret security clearance.
Experience in developing complex systems and applications using an object-oriented (OO) programming language.
Experience with Agile lifecycle methodologies including Scrum, Continuous Integration and Test-Driven Development Methodologies.
Proven self-motivated problem solver who can look at a situation, identify gaps or issues, and take initiative to resolve them (technically, with process, and with documentation)
Familiarity with leading a small team (e.g., estimating effort, decomposing tasks, tracking and reporting progress).
Experience with multi-threading, memory management, and performance optimization in complex environments
Experience with Shell Scripting (tcsh, csh, bash), software development tools like Git/Clearcase, and software debuggers
Experience in embedded systems, real-time systems, or large-scale applications.
Experience working in Agile environment such as Scrum, Scrum Scale, SAFe, Test-Driven Development, DevSecOps
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with time-critical requirements
Knowledge of Red Hat and/or Linux Operating Systems
Exposure to Open Systems Architectures and modular design principles

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
