Key Responsibilities:

At United, the Sr. Solution Engineer is responsible for the design and delivery of cutting edge enterprise solution that directly impacts the travel experience of our millions of customers at hundreds of airports. Responsibility includes estimation, planning, design, developing and operationalizing large scale innovative solutions.

  • Engineers and designs operationally critical complex applications in Cloud based platform
  • Performs hands-on development, helps with deployment, support and resolving software systems issues as required.
  • Takes delivery ownership, helps with change analysis & effort estimation, and supports Quality assurance teams and coach developers to meet deadlines.
  • Collaborate to create delivery roadmap along with Product Owners, Enterprise & Platform Architects, Analysts, Enterprise UX designers and other enterprise teams.
  • Optimize performance, resolve problems, provide follow-up on all issues and solutions.
  • Consults with architecture and platform experts to ensure consistency and coherence to the enterprise standards and guiding principles throughout the application lifecycle
  • Ensures application designs meet security, scalability, availability and performance requirements.
  • Identifies & demonstrate opportunities, influences technology decisions via innovative proof of concepts
  • Stays on top of industry trends through benchmarking, participation in professional associations etc. to advise others of strategic technology direction, forms guidelines for teams towards standard process implementations.
  • Demonstrate mastery of the application of development domain areas and multiple technologies and tool sets

QualificationsWhat’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or related field
  • 5+ years of experience developing scalable, performant, secure & reliable responsive web applications.
  • 5+ years of full-stack development experience in Angular (or similar front end technology) and .Net REST APIs
  • Exceptional at coding and on time delivery of high-quality components
  • Experienced with AWS native technologies such as EC2, S3, RDS, EKS, Lambda, AmazonMQ, API Gateway, DynamoDB etc.
  • Experienced with serverless technologies, services, and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
  • Creativity & innovation, avid learner of new technologies
  • Self-starter, understands the big picture in technology systems & applications.
  • Effective verbal and written communicator
  • Proficient in software development following Agile methodologies.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):
  • Proven track record of implementing large scale enterprise application
  • Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Deployment pipelines to Cloud infrastructure, well architected framework
  • Familiarity with secure development practices
  • Airline systems development is a plus
