Senior Stress Engineer

Job Description:

MAIN ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES-

• Structural Analysis during Design conceptual design, definition, development and modifications phases.
• Trade off analysis for different design solutions
• Structural arrangements definition and evaluation
• Sizing of the structural components, parts and assemblies
• Support of the Mechanical System installation Design office
• Analysis of the certification requirements according to the rules and standards-Definition of structural genera/detailed arrangements
• Selection of manufacturing technologies, materials and standards during the sizing
• Support of the design office-Definition and establishment of the certification/qualification means of compliance
• Structural test definition, test support and assessment of results
• Participation in the development of the technological areas of engineering and manufacturing.

INFLUENCE AREAS

• Engineering and Technologies: Structural and System installations design, M&P, Weight and Balance, Flight Physics,  Standardization,  R&D dpt,

SKILLS REQUIRED

• University Aeronautical Engineering Degree or equivalent
• At least 5-10 years experience in Structural Analysis of airframe components
• Experience in stress tools (FEM and SW packages)
• Good knowledge of standard stress methods (e.g. HSB, Bruhn, ESDU, Roark & Young)
• Knowledge of design principles and manufacturing processes-Knowledge of AW requirements, preferred on military standards
• Knowledge in qualification and certification of aircraft structures as well as global understanding of Aircraft Development processes to support transversal activities in early project phases-Metallic and composite materials knowledge

Structural test techniques-Good interpersonal and communication skills-Fluent English language.
