Boeing Poland Engineering and Technology Center (BPETC) is seeking a Senior Structural Design Engineer to perform design engineering work as individual contributor or a team member based in Warsaw, Poland.
As a Structural Design Engineer, you will provide a variety of technical solutions in support of existing and future commercial airplane products. This role requires deep experience in primary and secondary airframe structures (composite and metallic) and cross-functional integration with stress, loads, manufacturing, and supplier teams. The successful candidate will have outstanding communication skills and demonstrate ability to build collaborative relationships.
Primary Responsibilities:
Lead the structural design and delivery of assigned airframe components for the 787 program (e.g., fuselage sections, wing/pylon interfaces, empennage, floor beams, doors, or other primary/secondary structure)
Develop, modify, iterate, and release structural design concepts and detailed drawings using company CAD tools (e.g., CATIA/ ENOVIA) and/or other design methods, ensuring compliance with program requirements and manufacturing constraints
Performs, integrates analytical and test results to validate and verify assemblies and components meet requirements and specifications with further implementation of technical decisions made
Supports factory production activities and coordinates with the customer to optimize the design and achieve program goals
Develops new design/analysis processes and tools to improve the effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort
Investigate emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements
Business travel:
This position requires ability to travel both locally and internationally approx. up to 10 of worktime.
This position is expected to be 100 onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location option.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
7+ years of experience in aerospace structural engineering
5+ years of experience using CAD Tools
Fluent in English (both spoken and written)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience specifically on the 787 program or similar composite-intensive widebody aircraft
Experience with Boeing tools, processes, and procedures
Experience with GD&T, fastener/bonded joint design
Proven leadership in design release and change-management processes within a large aerospace program
Demonstrated success mentoring engineers and leading technical risk reduction activities
Experience leading a team, formally or informally
