Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS), Space Mission Systems (SMS) Division, seeks a Systems Engineering Manager (L-Level) to lead the Systems Architecture & Digital Systems Engineering capability based in El Segundo, California.

Our team works with Commercial, Government, and Proprietary Customers in the development and deployment of next-generation technologies and systems in Space. The candidate will demonstrate the ability to provide high impact, creative solutions to complex technical problems, the ability to work as part of a large team, and the ability to provide critical support and independent review of the work of teammates.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide Functional Leadership to a group of 15-20 SEIT engineers supporting multiple programs

  • Coach, counsel, mentor and provide developmental opportunities for employees

  • Perform employee performance management, hiring, retention, awards/recognition, and goal setting

  • Develop employee engagement activities to motivate and engage the workforce

  • Execute critical program staffing and redeployment activities

  • Develop and maintain common Digital Systems Engineering processes, tools, and standards for SMS programs

  • Develop and execute a robust training and development plan on established Digital Systems Engineering processes and tools

  • Manage and enforce Digital Systems Engineering processes and standards

  • Foster strong customer relationships

This position is expected to be 100 onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement

  • 10+ years of experience with systems engineering processes and tools

  • 5+ years of experience creating MBSE systems models in Cameo, Magic Systems of Systems Architect (MSOSA), or similar software

  • Experience with Systems Modeling Language (SysML) and Unified Architecture Framework (UAF)

  • Experience implementing model-based approaches on engineering projects/programs, ensuring seamless integration of delivered models within the receiving architecture and digital engineering platform

  • Experience with model-derived ConOps requirements development, interface control documentation, technical specification review, architecture development

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 10+ years of experience within the aerospace, defense, or similar high-tech industry

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively influence diverse audiences on digital concepts and technologies, from business leaders to technologists

  • Ability to provide technical and programmatic recommendations on the development, integration, and use of digital engineering and model-based systems engineering (MBSE) concepts and structures

  • Experience leading technical teams or projects

Summary pay range: $181,900 - $246,100
