The Work

This position is for a Senior Systems Lead Engineer for IRAD projects developing core simulation and training capabilities across the TLS Line of Business. As a Senior Systems Lead Engineer, you will act the primary Point of Contact (POC) for Systems Engineering activities, leading the design and development of complex System of System Architectures, System Architectures, and System Design activities. The individual will play a crucial role in supporting system design and requirements through various stages, including architecture, development, integration, and verification activities. This includes conducting system architecture analysis using Model Based Engineering (MBE) applications and practices.

The desired candidate will champion systems engineering rigor and product development process compliance in a fast paced, dynamic environment to ensure success throughout the product lifecycle. The individual should bring innovative ideas that influence the broader Engineering tenets while aligning activities for efficient and successful systems engineering methodology using Agile and Model Based engineering techniques.

A level 5 employee is typically a subject matter expert and has 12 to 14+ years of professional experience.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, with 14 years or more of professional experience; or 12 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree
• Proficiency applying System Modeling Languages and frameworks (SysML, UML, DODAF, UPDM, or similar language), and experience developing key artifacts and stakeholder review
• Knowledgeable in Systems Engineering Processes and Tools with a focus on development of products and continuous integration of designs through product deployment
• Experience applying the Vee Process Model to fully develop and integrate a complex system
• Leveraged Agile tenets in the execution of the development of software intensive systems, inclusive of driving development of Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Hardware, and Test Engineering work products including usage of Atlassian tool suite
• Prior customer engagement experiences requiring communication of technical concepts to external stakeholders
• Prior experience leading cross-functional teams through major technical reviews throughout the acquisition lifecycle (ITR, SRR, PDR, CDR)
• Strong communication and organizational skills

• Thorough understanding of program, functional, and process metrics including Earned Value Management (EVM)
• Experience with Cost Account Management (CAM)
• Prior experience in the development, integration, and deployment of training systems
• Capture Experience including authoring proposals
• Experience with Cameo and an enterprise-level toolset (e.g. Enterprise Architect) for developing key artifacts

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
