Position Summary

The Software Developer Engineer in Test (SDET) creates and maintains automated test frameworks, integrates existing frameworks and tests harnesses. The SDET will be responsible for the management of test mocks and Stubs and the integrations of tests into a Continuous Development environment. The SDET will collaborate with Test Engineers, Developers and Infrastructure to allow for automation integration, environment mocking, Continuous Integration (CI)/Continuous Development (CD) Application Program Interface (API) integrations and other methods for defect detection earlier in the testing life cycle. The SDET will need to be able to integrate with Application lifecycle tools, like Jira or Qtest. The SDET will be able to create and execute performance test scripts using a tool like LoadRunner or JMeter.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Build and execute load testing scripts for performance testing using the following protocols: HTTP/HTML, Web Services, TruClient for IE and FireFox, etc.
  • Test secure WebService performance; install certificates and solve certificate related issues during secure web service scripting and execution
  • Test windows Internet Information Services (IIS) application environment and SQL database environment
  • Build new scripts and troubleshoot existing scripts. Solve complex record and run issues including complex correlation problems
  • Analyze overall system performance and based on the test results, make recommendations to improve application and infrastructure performance
  • Set up the monitoring counters using HP SiteScope and/or Performance Center native monitors
  • Test for omnichannel customer experiences, including kiosks, mobile, and web platforms
  • Build and manage performance testing scenarios in HP ALM Performance Center
  • Create automated test scripts using Selenium, Unified Functional Test, or other Automation Tools
  • Create performance testing scripts, run tests and analyze results and key performance indicators
  • Integrate test automation into CI/CD Pipeline
  • Ability to deploy and administer Kubernetes and containers
  • Analyze test results and prioritize and log defects with appropriate information
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or relevant area; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous relevant work experience
  • Three (3) years of previous experience in performance and/or load testing
  • Three (3) years of previous experience as part of a Software Development Team of testers
  • Three (3) years of previous experience using Test Management Software
  • Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle
  • Understanding of Java programming
  • Understanding Microsoft Azure technologies
  • Candidates must demonstrate coding skills in a work sample assessment
  • Available for overnight travel (10%)
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
  • Authorization to work in the US is required, this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Five (5) years’ of previous experience in performance and/or load testing
  • Five (5) years’ of previous experience as part of a Software Development Team of testers
  • Knowledge of Containter and Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of Rest API and HTTP Methods
  • Experience with API Testing tools Postman or RestAssured
  • Experience implementing API automation frameworks
  • Knowledge of performance and load testing web applications
  • Knowledge of non-functional testing like security requirements, reliability, compliance and performance
  • Experience in C computer language, VB Script and other programming languages
  • Ability to interpret Server Key Performance Indictors and find infrastructure bottlenecks
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP, Firewalls, Networking theory and server environments
  • Knowledge of Testing windows desktop, web applications, web services and interfaces
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Project, Excel, Word and Visio
  • Knowledge of omnichannel customer experiences across kiosks, mobile, and web platforms
  • Focused and driven to excellence to ensure quality of deliverables
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent customer service and an understanding of how IT is ultimately delivered to the Customer

  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

Work Environment:                                                                                                    

  • Hybrid office environment
  • Present for core hours but additional hours required for late releases approximately once per week

Compensation:

  • The base pay range for this position is between $90,500.00 and $128,600.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
