Software Engineer - Mid (SW-IV&V)

 

Why This is an Exciting Role:

In this role, you will oversee the activities to establish and maintain the software build pipelines in a DevSecOps environment using Azure Cloud, GitLab and build tools and scripts delivered from Prime developers.  You will support the integration of SAST, DAST, and SCA tools used for independent verification and validation (IV&V), and software assurance. You will evaluate the scan results determining false positives, and finding severity levels against system architecture. Validating developer mitigations to reduce or mitigate risks. You will trace functional requirements to architecture and models, and then into the source code for verification of cybersecurity specifications. You will participate in technical interchange meetings with government and Prime developers to discuss findings and software assurance progress and maturity.

As the Senior Software - IV&V lead on this team your duties will be:

  • Leads a Software IV&V Team establishing the Plans, Processes, and templates for software assessment activities.
  • Oversee activities to perform DevSecOps in a closed network environment.
  • Lead Software and Firmware Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) activities.
  • Oversee activities to develop, document and maintain complex architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs for software systems.
  • Oversee development of code and integration of complex software components into a fully functional software system.
  • Develop software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met.
  •  Provide technical leadership for software projects and leads software supplier management activities.
  • Lead development, selection, tailoring and deployment of processes, tools, and metrics.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes, and regulations.
  • Track and evaluate software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards.
  •  Provide technical leadership for Software Assurance to ensure development of software that is free from vulnerabilities.
  • Train and mentor others.
  • Work under consultative direction.

Experience and Qualifications:

To be eligible for this demanding position, the ideal candidate should demonstrate the following experience and qualifications:  

 

Required Education and Years of Experience:

  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years related work experience, Master+7 years related work experience).

 

Required Qualifications: ​

  • Experience in the following areas:
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Zephyr, TestRail, TestComplete, Xray, T4J, Cucumber Rancher, Openshift, Git, Helm, Ansible, Chef, Docker, Grafana, or AppDynamics.
  • Programming languages such as Java, Python, Go, or C++.
  • Software development, systems engineering, or integration and test experience with mission systems on tactical platforms, flight software, or other complex systems.
  • Automation and CI/CD techniques and design patterns.
  • Agile product development.
  • Continuous integration, testing, and delivery.
  • Automated system testing, integration, and deployment.
  • Software factory maintenance and upgrades.
  •  Collaboration with developers, testers, and system engineers from multiple product teams.
  • Security first mindset

 

Desired Qualifications:

  •  Strong knowledge of software testing methods and approaches.
  • Experience working with both software and hardware-in-the-loop test environments.
  • Strong Working knowledge of the CI/CD process including debugging, test, and integration of software tools.
  •  Experience working with and supporting systems with Azure Cloud, Linux Operating System (OS) Kuberneties, Helm, and YAML.
  • Strong communication skills and a self-starter that can thrive in a new program start-up environment.
  • Understanding of designing and implementing full stack/Microservice infrastructure.
  • Have the ability to work within a tool-chain using tools such as GitLab, Gradle, Maven, JFrog Artifactory, ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana), SonarQube, Fortify, Coverity, BlackDuck, CodeDx, Klocwork, and more.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment. ( An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Pre-Start is required.)

 

This position requires clearing a background check and an enhanced Personal Conflict of Interest (PCI) requirements as a condition for employment.

 

Summary Pay Range:

Please note that the information shown below is a general guideline only. Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

 

$101,000 - $180,000
