Onsite in Huntsville, AL Off-Post, Not Redstone Arsenal
Full-Time with an ESOP Contractor Schedule: 9x80 (Every Other Friday Off)
Software Engineer for the GMD Weapon System (GWS) team on the Ground Missile Defense (GMD) system. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing software updates that best meet changing customer needs for new and existing features, collaborating with team members, and working in a cross-functional agile scrum team. The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborations across disciplines.
Responsibilities:
- Designs, developments, documents, tests and debugs applications software
- Collaborate with other software and systems engineers and ensure software standards are met
- Support the software development to include requirements definition, integration, and deployment
- Prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish project results with limited oversight and direction
- Apply "systems thinking" to ensure developed products are scalable, maintainable, and meet end-user needs
- Communicate openly and effectively with teammates and customer representatives
Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active in-scope U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance
- Degree in Software Engineering or related field
- Missile Defense domain knowledge
- Knowledge of SysUML
- Familiarity with Atlassian tools (e.g., Jira, Bitbucket) and Agile software development practices
- CompTIA Security+ Certification (DoD 8570 Compliant)

Estimated Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000 (This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.)
