Position Summary

MAG Aerospace is seeking a professional Solution Train Engineer to join the Project Manager Cyber & Space (PM C&S) team located in Hanover, MD. In this role the Solution Train Engineer will facilitate multiple Agile Release Trains (ARTs) at the large solution level and then is responsible for program execution, escalating impediments, managing risk, and helping drive continuous improvement for all ARTs and suppliers in the Value Stream

This is an opportunity to be involved in the newly formed PM C&S organization and be a part of the rapidly growing Cyber Infrastructure Product Office responsible for key capabilities within the offensive cyber operations world-wide. PM C&S delivers critical capabilities to counter current and future threats, enabling the next generation of cyber warfighting capabilities. By applying game changing cyber technologies through agile development methodology, we enable battlefield dominance for our Warfighters.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Responsible for facilitating Large Solution events including PI Planning, Solution Demos, and Inspect & Adapt.
  • Ensures mission execution, coaches at the Program and Team levels, and provides guidance in Agile and DevSecOps.
  • Leads the implementation and optimization of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology on the Program.
  • Drives program and release level processes for multiple Agile Release Trains demonstrating leadership, coupled with domain knowledge and technical savvy.
  • Serves as the organizational facilitator for program events and activities for planning, executing, delivery and improvement, such as quarterly Program Increment (PI) Planning events and other agile ceremonies.
  • lead and coach Project Management Team personnel on the principles, processes, and best practices of SAFe.
  • Using a variety of tools and methods they will optimize the flow of value to align the execution of the program. This will include the tracking and management of key ART metrics to measure execution performance and identifying impediments.
  • Travel less than 25 in support of mission requirements.
Requirements

Minimum Requirements

Knowledge and Skills

  • Experience in implementing Agile and DevSecOps methodologies with a passion for agile principles and best practices.
  • Experience with SAFe 4 framework and implementation of Agile Release Trains.
  • Certification in SAFe 4 Release Train Engineer Certification, PMI Project Management Professional, PMI Agile Certified Practitioner, or equivalent agile certification.
  • Previous, successful experience facilitating Lean-Agile Program Execution in Large Solution and/or Program execution using the SAFe 4 framework.
  • Demonstrates strong sense of ownership and operates in a collaborative manner.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional leadership skills in order to coordinate collaboration across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • 10 years of experience in the software engineering field.

Clearance

  • Must have Active TS/SCI

Education

Bachelor’s BA/BS in a Technical Field. Four (4) additional years of related experience will substitute for Bachelors degree.

Other Qualifications

  • Ability to travel; less than 25 in support of mission requirements.
  • Ability to work in an office/lab environment
