Contract Position
Pay Estimated: $88.92-$93.92/Hour
This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors, (geographical location, etc.)
Contribute to a company at the forefront of mission-critical systems and technologies in defense and security. This leader in global defense integrates advanced technology to deliver information and insights on the battlefield, offering roles that support security and technological superiority across multiple domains.
Responsibilities:
Lead MBSE-driven system architecture and interface definition for space-based missile defense solutions.
Develop space and ground system architectures using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools such as MagicDraw
Perform requirements analysis and decompose into physical, functional, and logical views
Define interface control documents (ICDs) and coordinate across mission threads and systems
Lead development of Technical Performance Measures (TPMs) to drive mission effectiveness
Conduct probabilistic analysis and maintain associated system-level models/workbooks
Coordinate mission performance design in MBSE environments
Collaborate with multiple government and contractor stakeholders to define joint architectures
Design mission threads, CONOPS, and support system change management
Contribute to space mission design including sensing, communication, payload management, and data processing
Support flight dynamics (collision avoidance, station keeping, LEOPs, orbit insertion/de-orbit) and space-ground contact planning
Apply knowledge of telemetry, tracking, and command (TT&C) and constellation operations
Integrate cloud and enterprise interfaces (e.g., Kafka, REST, gRPC) in space-ground architectures
Use tools and methods including FreeFlyer, Meridian, OpenC3, and constellation trend analysis
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related STEM field
8+ years of related experience (or 6+ with Master’s degree)
Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience required
Strong experience in flight dynamics, space system architecture, and interface development
Experience with space constellation operations, mission planning, and automated orbital analysis workflows
Familiarity with protocols and technologies:
CCSDS, IP Networking, SNMP, Kafka, gRPC, REST APIs, Elasticache
Experience with Agile development environments
Knowledge of MDA programs, cloud systems, enterprise interface protocols, and satellite communication (RF and optical)
On-site work or travel may be required depending on program phase
