Electrical Engineer

Contract Position

Pay Estimated: $54.77-$59.77/Hour

This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors, (geographical location, etc.)

Contribute to a company at the forefront of mission-critical systems and technologies in defense and security. This leader in global defense integrates advanced technology to deliver information and insights on the battlefield, offering roles that support security and technological superiority across multiple domains.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with optical, mechanical, and software design teams to develop integrated system solutions

• Plan and lead root cause investigations for electrical performance issues

• Conduct experimental tests, analyze results, and implement corrective actions

• Specify, select, and qualify both active and passive components

• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including test plans and performance models

• Design and implement test procedures, select appropriate test equipment and instrumentation

• Support lab and field testing for prototype and R&D systems

• Benchspan system performance models and improve test architecture

• Apply CAD tools (e.g., Xpedition, Allegro) for circuit design and layout of mixed-signal systems

Qualifications:

• U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law

• Education: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related STEM field (Master’s preferred)

• Experience:

  • 2+ years of hands-on electrical engineering experience (or Master’s degree with internship/project work)

  • Demonstrated experience with electrical troubleshooting, design, and integration

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with optical communications hardware design and build

• Familiarity with lab and field testing in prototype or R&D environments

• Proficient in electrical CAD tools (Xpedition or Allegro preferred)

• Skilled in mixed-signal circuit analysis and design

• Working knowledge of communication test tools such as:

  • BERT (Bit Error Rate Testers)

  • Sampling Oscilloscopes

  • OSA (Optical Spectrum Analyzer)

• Experience with electrical assembly, test instrumentation, and documentation standards

• Proven ability to thrive in a dynamic, multi-tasking environment

• Creative, forward-thinking mindset with a passion for emerging technology
