Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced professional to join our the SNC team as the Sr Manager for Engineering Tools and Digitalization. The selected candidate will work directly with the VP of Engineering to develop and execute a digital tools strategy for the IAS Business Area (BA). You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for digital transformation within the organization, design and test new engineering tools and software solutions, and analyze data to inform decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelors or Masters degree in engineering with background in the aerospace and defense industry and a strong understand of design tools including mechanical hardware, electrical hardware, software development, systems engineering and data analysis. The ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks effectively, and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams is essential. Experience with project management methodologies such as Agile or Scrum is preferred.

As the Sr Manager for Engineering Tools and Digitalization you will develop and execute a business strategy for digital tools implementation at SNC. The role includes leading the IAS Engineering Tools Team and the Business Area Information Technology (BAIT) environment networking team. This leader will closely coordinate with the SNC Corporate Tools, IT Infrastructure, and BA program teams on requirements for engineering tools and the future digital strategies for the business. This position will coordinate closely with IAS Chief Engineers and Project Engineers to align the strategies with the program execution needs. You will also work with the VP of Engineering and finance team to align the work scope with the budgetary needs of the business. The candidate will manage people hiring and resource management, along with technical support for the tools supplied to the engineering organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading a team of engineers and developers to develop and implement digital tools and solutions improving engineering productivity and aligning with industry solutions being driven by the latest government contractual requirements.
  • Collaboration with other departments to identify opportunities for digital transformation and to implement strategies to optimize engineering efficiency and quality.
  • Managing the development and testing of new digital tools to optimize efficiency and quality of the engineering products.
  • Providing leadership and guidance to team members to ensure successful adoption and implementation of digital tools and solutions.
  • Developing and managing budgets and timelines for digital tools and solutions projects.
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with both internal and external partners to ensure access to the latest digital technologies and solutions.
  • Staying up-to-date on industry trends and advancements in digital technologies to continuously improve processes and products.
  • Ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements and standards for aerospace and defense processes and products.

Must-haves:

  • Bachelors of Science degree in a related discipline and typically 12 or more years of relevant technical experience
  • At least 10 years of experience in design engineering, or digital transformation in aerospace and defense or a related industry.
  • Advanced knowledge of engineering principles and practices
  • Extensive experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools, analysis and simulation
  • Ability to work in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
  • Experience with Cyber security requirements including DEFARS compliance and NIST 800-171 regulations
  • Experience utilizing engineering digital tools and solution development on aerospace and defense programs.
  • Strong knowledge of aerospace and defense engineering processes and products.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively. Strong knowledge of engineering principles and practice

Preferred:

  • Experience with digital tools and solutions such as machine learning, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things (IoT).
  • Experience with project management methodologies such as Agile or Scrum.
  • Familiarity with preparation and development of project estimates, technical proposals, and program cost and schedule management
  • Past history of developing baseline project definition and maturation in a complex development setting, including the use of integrated trade studies and analysis
  • Strong knowledge of aircraft design modelling methods, tools, and data architecture
  • Advanced Experience with requirements management and system modelling tools, such Jama, Dassault 3DX, Cameo, Dymola, and MATLAB

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $159,430.15 - $219,216.46. SNC considers several factors when extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates’ key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications.

SNC offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
