Contract Position
Pay Estimated: $72.03-$77.03/Hour
This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors, (geographical location, etc.)
Contribute to a company at the forefront of mission-critical systems and technologies in defense and security. This leader in global defense integrates advanced technology to deliver information and insights on the battlefield, offering roles that support security and technological superiority across multiple domains.
Responsibilities:
Drive the complete lifecycle of printed wiring board (PWB) designs in collaboration with electrical, mechanical, component, and program management teams.
Lead schematic capture, PCB layout, constraint management, and design post-processing for rugged, high-performance electronics.
Apply advanced knowledge of industry standards: IPC, J-STD, Mil-Spec, ASME, ESD, UL, RoHS.
Design and model across analog, digital, mixed signal, RF, high-speed, power (linear/switching), high-voltage/current, and multiple communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet, VPX, PCI, DDR, RS485, SATA, USB, I2C).
Perform impedance modeling, stack-up design, padstack development, and design rules checking (DRC).
Manage component library creation and validation: symbols, footprints, padstacks.
Generate and verify fabrication/assembly documentation (Gerber, ODB++, BOMs) and collaborate with vendors for manufacturing readiness.
Proactively manage multiple concurrent designs and expedite requests under schedule constraints.
Participate in and lead design reviews, status reporting, and cross-functional collaboration via MS Teams and internal tools.
Comply with internal design procedures and configuration management standards.
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
10+ years of relevant experience (or 8+ years with a Master’s degree)
Expert with Cadence Capture CIS and Allegro (schematic/layout)
Proficient with:
Altium Designer, Mentor Xpedition
CAM tools: Gerber, ODB++, CAM350, Valor
Modeling tools: Polar Si9000, Z-planner
Supporting tools: AutoCAD, SolidWorks, eDrawings, MS Office Suite, Adobe, Windchill
Deep understanding of PCB fabrication and circuit card assembly processes, materials, tolerances, and environmental standards
Ability to handle high-mix, high-complexity boards in defense/aerospace environments
Must be detail-oriented, efficient, and capable of driving designs through internal and external checkpoints
