Join our team! As a Systems Engineer, you will be using your skills and expertise to research, architect, model, simulate, test, certify and improve cutting edge products and services. Youll be developing complex system architectures within contextual modeling platforms, ushering them from operational concept through preliminary and detailed design, simulation, and test using progressive tools. As a cross-functional engineer, you are in charge of system-level ownership of new products and processes through the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities:
Lead the design, development, integration, and testing of complex aircraft systems and subsystems.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards, including FAA and/or DoD requirements.
Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery from concept through deployment.
Oversee the development and maintenance of system architectures, requirements, and design documentation.
Collaborate with the Director of Technology to align AIS projects with SNC’s strategic goals and technological advancements.
Identify and evaluate emerging technologies for potential integration into future projects.
Coordinate with Chief Engineers for AIS programs, ensuring technical integrity and mission success.
Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Provide oversight and technical direction for Internal Research and Development (IRaD) efforts, with a specific focus on autonomy and artificial intelligence (AI).
Lead the development of innovative solutions for AIS programs and customers in autonomy and AI, ensuring these technologies are effectively integrated into AIS projects.
Work closely with R&D teams to identify key research areas, set technical goals, and drive the development of cutting-edge technologies.
Work closely with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to define project requirements and ensure alignment with customer needs.
Present technical solutions and program updates to senior management and external stakeholders.
Support project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
Ensure that all engineering activities are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Bachelors of Science degree in System Engineering or related discipline and typically 16 or more years of relevant experience
Higher education may substitute for relevant experience
Advanced knowledge of engineering principles and practices
Progressive Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
Thorough understanding of requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation, and allocation; systems design, systems integration, technical risk identification and management strategies, and Verification and Validation (V&V) principles
Proven track record of leading complex engineering projects and teams.
Extensive knowledge of aircraft systems, avionics, and integration processes.
Experience with regulatory compliance and certification processes (FAA, DoD).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across organizational boundaries.
Familiarity with emerging technologies relevant to business unit growth through customer engagement and attendance at industry-related conferences.
Ability to ensure alignment between business unit pursuits & programs, strategic campaigns, focused capture efforts, and BA level Technology Leadership.
Relevant experience engaging new potential customers and developing requirements for new programs.
Experience in utilizing Mission and Operational Analysis to develop new products grounded in high credibility physics-based solutions providing new capability to the warfighter.
Ability to develop initial concepts and scope for new programs.
Advanced knowledge and understanding of one or more of the following disciplines: business development, capture management, program management, science and engineering programs, acquisition processes, opportunity identification and qualification.
Working knowledge and experience with various technical matters in support of the exportability, technical determination, and release of products and services.
Demonstrated passion for ideation and innovation, as well as motivating others to act by creating a shared sense of vision or purpose.
Ability to quickly grasp technical concepts and understand complex technical and program interdependencies.
Possess a strategic mindset, linking technology and business.
Demonstrated ability to work with senior business and government leaders and provide leadership within the workplace.
Strong communication skills, including the ability to clearly express technical concepts in verbal and written forms, and adapt conversations for technical vs. non-technical audiences.
Extensive experience developing technology and IRaD (Research and Development) roadmaps, and seeing them through to completion.
Current Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility, as well as experience in Special Access Program and Sensitive Compartmented Information project execution and management.
Qualifications We Prefer:
Prior experience in a Director of Technology or Chief Engineer role.
Experience with autonomy and AI technologies, including their application in aerospace systems.
Familiarity with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools and methodologies.
Active security clearance or the ability to obtain one.

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $189,761.74 - $260,922.39. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
SNC offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
