In Kansas City, Honeywell Federal Manufacturing &Technologies (FM&T) manages and operates the U.S. Department ofEnergy/National Nuclear Security Administrations (NNSA) Kansas City NationalSecurity Campus. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provides engineering support of highly technical andadvanced manufacturing processes typically requiring specialized qualifications,knowledge and/or skill.
  • Performs project management and design, development,evaluation, and quality control functions on highly complex engineeringprojects, regularly offering innovative solutions to significant technicalproblems.
  • Applies mathematical, physical science, and advancedengineering technologies in accomplishing engineering objectives. Exercisesconsiderable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignments.
  • Recognized authority within area of expertise with wideversatility of experience and capability. Works under general administrativedirection occasionally with some latitude for unreviewed actions or decisions.
  • Performs project planning and manages project resources,including multiple individuals and disciplines, to achieve quality, delivery,and cost objectives.
  • Conducts research and development experiments to resolvecomplex engineering and quality problems involving highly technical andscientific methods.
  • Writes technical reports on results and conclusions drawnfrom experiments conducted and incorporates findings in formal specifications.
  • Estimates set-up times, flow-times, costs of production andacceptance equipment, and compiles cost estimates and delivery quotations,monitors performance, and prepares reports, statistics, and recommendations formanagement review.
  • Participates in establishing operating procedures on newproducts and components.
  • Defines and recommends new designs, design changes, and alternatedesigns of instruments, and test equipment, and orders tooling, gaging, andequipment necessary to assure product quality.

 

You Must Have:

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accreditedEngineering program or bachelors of science degree in Physics from andaccredited program.
  • Six or more years of relevant experience in engineering,analytical, or related technical activities.
  • US citizenship in order to obtain and maintain U.S. Dept. ofEnergy "Q" level security clearance
