Prime Air is seeking an experienced Sr. Quality Engineer who combines superb technical and analytical capabilities. This leader will have a strong background in Quality engineering, Design, Manufacturing and Assembly of complex products with a demonstrated ability to lead and get the right things done quickly and effectively. We’re looking for people who innovate and love solving hard problems. The right candidate will also be a strong integrator who prioritizes well and communicates effectively. Key job responsibilities

- Drive Design for Excellence (Quality, Manufacturability, Assembly, Cost etc.) efforts with Design, Manufacturing, Test and Systems Engineering teams.
- Long range planning for Quality processes and technologies for operations at scale
- Establish standard work for processes, drawings, feedback mechanism, and metrics for KPIs
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to manufacture safe, high quality, cost effective products at scale.
- Assess process capabilities/performance and innovate to simplify processes, reduce cost, optimize cycle time

Export Control License
This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazon’s ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf.

A day in the life
In this role, you will support early production runs of our new generation drones. You will work with Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacturing and Test teams to maintain traceability and conformity of the produced drones. You will work upstream to overcome supply chain challenges, and downstream to contain reported issues from the field. You will lead audits to ensure compliance with procedures both on the production floor and in flight operations. You will compile and analyze data from multiple sources and with different structures to produce meaningful insights, develop metrics and drive actions to improve business performance.

About the team
We own Quality for all production activities. Starting with the Quality Management System, Incoming Quality Control, Line Inspections, supporting Airworthiness certifications, as well as RCCA and containment efforts. We dive deep into our production data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. We pride ourselves on having a strong Bias for Action, relentlessly High Standards, and a knack for analytics and making data-driven decisions.

Job Requirements:
- Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures- Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent
- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production
- Experience with the project management of technical projects
- Experience in leading process design and improvement projects
- Experience working in manufacturing environment and setting up new lines
- Six Sigma Black certification is highly desired

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $213,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
