This is an Sr R&D Process Development Engineer - Fluorocarbon Process role for leading process development and improvement to support new product commercialization and productivity improvement projects for Honeywells Advanced Materials. The position will be based in Buffalo NY, USA.

The salary range for this position is $105,000 - $157,000. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography, and other relevant factors.

KEY RESPONSIBILTIES:
• Lead comprehensive process development initiatives, demonstrating expertise in both Chemistry and Chemical Engineering.
•Coordinate diverse functions within the Research and Development (R&D) department, overseeing tasks such as the design and construction of process development scale equipment, supervision of technical staff, analytical requirements, physical property measurements, and the collection/reporting of experimental results.
•Take a pivotal role in advancing manufacturing technologies for inorganic molecules, particularly Li battery salts.
•Collaborate with engineers in Manufacturing and Engineering departments to drive cost reduction initiatives and enhance technology for existing fluorocarbon manufacturing processes.
•Develop manufacturing technologies and build patent portfolios to safeguard innovations.

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS
Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization.

YOU MUST HAVE:
•Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
•5+ years of experience in R&D, process development, or process engineering

WE VALUE:
•Ph.D. degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
•Mixed degrees in Chemical Engineering and Chemistry (e.g., BS in Chemical Engineering but MS/PhD in Chemistry, or BS in Chemistry but MS/PhD in Chemical Engineering)
•A proven track record of success in academic and/or industrial research work
•Hands-on experience in designing/constructing automatic or semiautomatic reaction systems.
•Experience/skills that include in-depth knowledge of physical chemistry, thermodynamics, chemical kinetics, reaction engineering and catalysis.
•Fundamental knowledge of inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, transport phenomena and unit operations is preferred as well
•Leadership skills, experience & qualities
•Project management and project leadership experiences
•Team orientation with excellent interpersonal skills - ability to lead, motivate, and mentor others.
•Self-starter, with the ability to analyze and solve complex problems.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills
