Lockheed Martins RMS Mission Systems organization is seeking to hire an experienced Lead Hardware Design / System Engineer out of our Owego NY location. Mission Systems specializes in developing next generation mission computers for a variety of multi-engine jet aircraft as well as rotary and fixed wing helicopters. This includes everything from the state of the art F35 to the top dog fighter F16. Helicopters such as the MH60 Blackhawk and a host of others. Our team is essentially involved in developing the brains of the aircraft. To be specific we develop systems of complex integrated circuit cards that perform and process sensors across the aircraft which then get relayed to the pilot. The work we do ensures pilots have real time, critically important data to assist them in safely performing a variety of essential missions across the globe.
Ideally, we seek individuals who have hands-on experience developing these Advanced Processing systems / subsystems. This is a senior position that requires a highly motivated individual with leadership skills and exemplary communication skills. In addition to hands on responsibilities this role will also entail being a primary interface to our various customers. Given that it is not unusual to have multiple concurrent responsibilities, being highly organized and having a follow- up and through demeanor is essential to success.
Duties for this position include:
• Leading and supporting overall organizational process compliance including management and coordination of the Hardware Development Process Implementation, starting with requirement derivation and through product integration into production
• Performing as the lead hardware engineer on various initiatives within the organization.
• Driving proposal capture and product development activities, including requirement derivation and technical guidance.
• Being directly responsible for the technical integrity and work quality of product development ensuring that deliverables and commitments are met falling within cost and budget.
• Focusing on maintaining the integrity of current programs as well as helping to lead strategic technical direction for the organization.
• This position also provides management and oversight of subcontractors and contractors helping them achieve both short term and long term objectives.
• Utilizing Digital Transformation, including model based engineering, test automation, and Agile development processes in order to define requirements and develop product capabilities

Basic Qualifications:
- Strong Leadership experience including leading diverse teams
- Experience with process reviews, audits and compliance
-Experience with laboratory work / testing and with analog, RF, or digital hardware, including practical Experience with network analyzers, logic analyzers, and spectrum analyzers.
-Design, test, and evaluate RF, analog, or digital hardware and test equipment.
-Strong understanding of circuit card design.
-Ability to obtain a security clearance to at least the Secret level.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, or Washington is $118,100 - $226,400 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidates work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $135,800 - $256,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
