Use your advanced knowledge of manufacturing engineering fundamentals to help Honeywell Aerospace deliver innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers. The Supplier Development Engineer (SDE) will work under general supervision and along the side of some of the worlds most talented engineers. The SDE position will work in a team environment as a key technical resource for the Global Sourcing and Supplier Readiness organization to develop new supply sources and to improve existing supplier capabilities.  Responsibilities will include cross-functional program management to qualify new suppliers, develop new suppliers, increase capacity, support systemic supplier improvement, and assessing suppliers to ensure process conformance. The SDE must have in-depth technical expertise, manufacturing engineering experience, and have comprehensive experience with problem-solving tools.

Key responsibilities

•Plan & perform regular Production Risk rate readiness assessments at suppliers. Establish MOS & monitoring, reporting and coordination of assigned readiness activities.
•Interface with Global Sourcing teams to prioritize supplier development needs by commodity to improve cost competitiveness or supply constraints.
•Expand footprint through strategic supplier selection and growth, based off of Honeywell business need and supply chain strategy.
•Drive supplier selection through robust qualification processes.
•Assess new and existing supplier capabilities to meet product, cost, quality, capacity, and fulfillment.
•Drive on-site improvements utilizing Lean methodologies, supplier scorecards and supplier assessments. Ensure supplier compliance while driving systematic problem solving and process improvement plans to deliver performance.
•Track the suppliers performance indicators, based on their scorecards and rankings, to facilitate and develop the supply bases ability to consistently meet or exceed defined expectations.
•Develop positive relationships and work closely with Global Sourcing leaders to manage, implement, and track supplier/engineering, design changes, capacity studies and New Product Introductions (NPI), and transitions.
•Provide technical expertise and leadership to sourcing and development of suppliers with respect to capabilities, performance, quality, cost, and delivery.
•Assist with new product launch by working with suppliers to ensure that key milestones are achieved.

 Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.


YOU MUST HAVE

•5+ years of experience in program management, supply chain, or engineering.

WE VALUE

•Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
•Masters Degree in Engineering or Business
•Demonstrated Business and financial acumen
•Experience in sourcing or procurement
•Six Sigma Training or Certification.
•Ability to succeed in a matrixed organization
•Significant experience in materials management
•Experience within material control system such as MRP/SAP systems
•Expertise across professional disciplines within material management function.
•High bias for action and integrative problem-solving skills 
•Ability to think strategically while tactically setting goals and tasks scope
•Ability to manage multiple, complex projects and changing priorities; make sound decisions under pressure, and work effectively in a team environment
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a crisp and to-the-point presentation style, and an ability to quickly and positively inuFB02uence others.
