Job PurposeThe Compliance Monitoring - Engineering section ensures Emirates Engineering meets all technical standards through a rigorous Audit Program. We provide independent assessments of airworthiness management, training, manufacturing, maintenance, and engineering activities, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
The department proactively establishes and implements audit programs to monitor all technical aspects, identifying potential issues and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements. Our focus is on maintaining effective documentation and implementation of quality management systems to uphold corporate commitments to regulations, safety policies, and quality standards.
As a Standardisation Manager in Engineering, you will drive the quality, consistency, and integrity of audits across compliance monitoring. Conduct independent spot checks and enforce compliance within regulatory and internal requirements. Act as the focal point for initiating enforcement actions, aligning audit activities with regulatory requirements and changes, operational standards/objectives, whilst driving continuous improvement and risk-based auditing strategies.
In this role, you will:
- Perform meta-audits (audits of audits) to verify audit depth, objectivity, and quality. Ensure that audit findings are substantiated, risk-ranked, and that root cause analysis and corrective actions are properly validated.
- Implement consistent audit methodologies within respective function, audit report formats, and evaluation criteria and identify and address process gaps, and opportunities for standardisation or enhancement.
- Prepare reports on the effectiveness of compliance audits within the area of expertise, surveillance findings, and enforcement actions. Escalate significant systemic gaps, non-compliance issues within the allocated remit, or ineffective corrective action implementation, identify systemic risks and propose mitigations or procedural updates.
- In collaboration with Manager Quality Assurance and Standardisation identify risk-based surveillance opportunities and targeted audits and spot checks accordingly. Identify emerging risks, recurring non-conformities, and areas requiring systemic improvement.
- When directed lead or support investigations into serious non-conformities, repeated procedural violations, or quality escapes.
- Monitor and ensure all auditing practices are aligned with local regulations, company policy and ensure reaming up to date of regulatory updates and requirements.
- Engage with Compliance Section Heads, business stakeholders to ensure collaborative resolution of issues and continuous improvement of audit outcomes.
- Provide mentoring and technical guidance to compliance auditors and maintain auditor calibration across the team, manage the training of new auditors, provide coaching and technical guidance to engineering auditors as needed.
Aircraft Engineering
- Investigate violations or breaches in engineering practices. Recommend or initiate enforcement actions such as warning letters, suspension, or revocation of authorisations and coordinate with internal stakeholders as required.
- Review with Business Improvement Controller, the approved and published engineering training materials, expositions and procedures and assess changes have been implemented through the Management of Change (MoC) process to ensure continued compliance.
QualificationTo be considered for this role, you must meet the below requirements:
- Bachelors Degree or Honours (12+3)
- 8+ years of aviation experience including at least 3 years in engineering audit preferably under IOSA, surveillance, or quality / compliance oversight.
- Previous experience as certifying staff or in maintenance supervision is an advantage.
- IOSA Audit certification is preferred.
- Holder or former holder of an Aircraft Maintenance Licence.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Working knowledge of auditing techniques and quality management systems (e.g. ISO 9001).
- Ability to analyse audit reports, identify patterns, and recommend data-driven improvements.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and report writing skills.
- Proficiency in using audit management tools and data analytics platforms (e.g. Q-Pulse, IQSMS, etc.).
- Skilled in audit planning, execution, and root cause analysis.
- Proficient in investigation techniques and enforcement protocols.
- Capable of handling sensitive enforcement matters with professionalism and discretion.
- Deep knowledge of GCAA CAR 145, CAR M, CAR 21, and CAR 66.
- Strong understanding of Expositions structure, engineering procedures, and authorisation systems.
