Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking Associate Payloads Design Engineers (Level 2) to support the Interiors Team, part of the Payloads Organization, based in Everett, WA.
As a Payloads Design Engineer, you will work across the product lifecycle—supporting customer configuration development, engaging with suppliers, validating and verifying design requirements, integrating business needs, and supporting the product through production and certification processes. You will collaborate closely with project engineering, production engineering, program and product teams, management, and technical staff to define and implement effective engineering solutions. By leveraging the expertise and resources of the interiors organization, you will help certify and deliver industry-leading interiors products.
This position supports the Payload Systems Design Center, which includes multiple commodities: Cargo Systems, Cargo Furnishings, Insulation Systems, Oxygen Systems, Escape Systems, and WW. In the first year (2025–2026), you will join the 777X Insulation Systems Design Engineering team to support production, lead product improvement projects, and develop designs for the 777X. Afterward, opportunities will be available to either remain with the Insulation Systems team or rotate to other Design Engineering teams within Payloads.
Position Responsibilities:
Assists to develop, integrate and document structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design.
Develops, maintains and modifies basic structural and interior payload system and component designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle.
Performs tests to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
Assists with supplier development, test and production activities and coordination with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals.
Supports investigation of emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements.
Works under general supervision.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelors degree from an accredited college, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering or civil engineering
2+ or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination
Experience with Catia
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
Experience with Enovia
Proven ability to independently develop practical solutions and to manage/prioritize multiple projects in support of key milestones and delivery schedules
Experience with FAA and/or EASA certification processes
Experience authoring production, component, or modification Certification Plans
Relocation:
This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
Shift:
For 2026 the schedule is 70 First Shift, and 30 Second Shift on a rotation basis. For 2027 and beyond the position is entirely First Shift.

Summary pay range Associate (Level 2 ): $80,750 - $109,250
