The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking Structural Analysis Engineers to join the Air Vehicle Engineering team located in Oklahoma City, OK.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Associate and Experienced Level Structural Analysis Engineers.

Position Responsibilities:

Associate (Level 2)

  • Perform basic structural analysis using well defined analysis tools to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance
  • Support test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications
  • Define and document certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied
  • Support in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements
  • Work under general supervision

Experienced (Level 3)

  • Develop, integrate and document structural requirements to establish the system design
  • Coordinate with other engineering groups to establish the products environment
  • Guide product design and verify structural integrity by using analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance
  • Develop test plans and configurations, support test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications
  • Define and document certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied
  • Support in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements
  • Work under general direction

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.  This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • 1+ year of structural analysis engineering experience

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • (Level 3) 3 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of experience with Finite Element Models (FEM)
  • Active U.S. Secret Clearance or higher   
  • Experience with Aircraft Primary Structures on Boeing Commercial Derivatives – Commercial and/or Military applications (737, 747, 757, 767 & 777)
  • Experience with structural design principles for aircraft primary structures (e.g., fatigue, damage tolerance, corrosion, stress analysis, statics, materials strength, material characteristics, and repair techniques)
  • Strong verbal and written skills, teaming skills, technical skills, and integration skills

Typical Education/Experience: 

Associate (Level 2)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Experienced (Level 3)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range (Associate, level 2): 71,400 – 96,600

Summary pay range (Experienced, level 3): 88,400 – 119,600

Oklahoma Tax Credit:

If you have an engineering degree from an ABET accredited college or university in Oklahoma and are not currently working in the aerospace sector in Oklahoma, you may qualify for a $5000 tax credit from the state of Oklahoma for up to five years.  Click here for more information on the tax credit.
