This includes review of Engineering drawings, preparing load calculations and writing substantiation reports in collaboration with the Structural Engineering group and Structural Unit Members providing approvals.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Perform static and dynamic structural analysis of metallic and composite structures and fatigue life assessment using both manual (textbook theory) analysis and finite element analysis modeling to guide product design and design changes.

Use the latest structural analysis tools and techniques.

Build Finite Element Models to determine internal loads, locate stress concentrations and perform analysis on components.

Create stress analysis reports and/or test plans for substantiation.

Support static/fatigue test execution and test results.

Review drawings, specifications, service bulletins, reports, etc.

Review new drawings as required for determination of compliance to all structures requirements in CFR Part 23.

Prepare substantiation reports showing compliance with FAA regulations covering structural strength, crash protection, interiors item, basic loads, weight balance, fatigue life, and flight test instrumentation.

Determine and develop approaches to solutions that are lightest, lowest in cost and high quality and consistent with schedule and budget objectives.

Contribute to developing plans for engineering substantiation projects.
