Education & Job Requirements
* You must have:
* A Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Civil Engineering.
* A minimum of 5 years of experience in aircraft structures, including materials and properties, design criteria, and release processes.
* A minimum of 5 years of experience working with aircraft primary structures, including design, strength, and fatigue.
* The ability to work under general direction while coordinating with cross-functional engineering and production teams.
* The ability to support limited travel as required to meet customer and program needs. Preferred Skills
* You will have:
* A minimum of 9 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
* A minimum of 14 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Experience using engineering tools such as CATIA, ENOVIA, and PDM.
* Experience with structural design principles for aircraft primary structures, including fatigue, damage tolerance, corrosion, stress analysis, statics, materials strength, material characteristics, and repair techniques.
* Experience in airplane design, stress analysis, liaison engineering, or manufacturing engineering.
* Experience supporting Boeing 7-Series aircraft primary structures.
* Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills. Job Duties & Functions
* You will be able to:
* Develop, integrate, and document structural and interior payload system requirements to establish system design.
* Develop, maintain, and modify structural and interior payload system and component designs using 3D computer-aided design tools and other design methods.
* Provide product definition to engineering groups, production operations, suppliers, and external customers throughout the product lifecycle.
* Develop new design and analysis processes and tools to improve development effectiveness, quality, and efficiency.
* Investigate emerging technologies and develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements.
* Coordinate design activities across engineering, production, supplier, and customer interfaces.
