Boeing Brazil is seeking Structures Engineering Manager, reporting to the Senior Structures Manager, working out of the São José Dos Campos office.
The Structures Engineering Manager will join the Fuselage Stress Liaison group in Brazil. The position requires a candidate with a servant leadership mindset who communicates and collaborates well with others and fosters an environment that values diversity. This particular leadership role will have an emphasis on mentoring/ coaching teammates, establishing positive working relationships with the global sites, and instilling a culture of engineering excellence and safety. This leader should be able to leverage engineering judgment to guide and shepherd teams and engineers to effective and efficient solutions that meet product safety as well as business objectives. The primary statement of work for this leader will be Stress Liaison for the Boeing South Carolina site and 787 Program.
This leader will lead cross functional teams in the assessment and resolution of complex product/process issues discovered throughout the product lifecycle. This leader should be able to manage a wide variety of concurrent work statement, including long and short flow assignments.
This leader will manage employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Mechanical & Structural Engineering. Develop and execute business plans, policies and procedures and develop organizational and technical strategies. Acquire resources, provide technical management of suppliers and lead process improvements. Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports. Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes. Manages, develops and motivates employees.
Position Responsibilities:
• Mentor and develop team members technical and leadership capabilities
• Positive & proactive leadership mindset to motivate team members and maintain healthy work atmosphere.
• Help facilitate daily team stand ups utilizing LEAN best practices.
• Proactive collaboration with customers and support organizations, build positive relationships. (i.e. LE, Prod. Engineering, Operations, Fleet Support teams)
• Manage daily team priorities to effectively utilize team resources
• Effective communication with lead engineers, management and team members.
• Establish clear RAA for lead engineers, foster and develop lead pipeline.
• Develop and execute business plans, policies and procedures and develop organizational and technical strategies.
• Support hiring of engineering team.
This position is expected to be 100 onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
• Must have existing rights to work in Brazil.
• Must have a degree in Aerospace, Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
• Must be registered or eligible to register with the Engineering and Agronomy Regional Council (Conselho Regional de Engenharia e Agronomia - CREA).
• Proficient in both verbal and written communications skills in the English Language.
• Experience in Structures Engineering.
• Experience in factory support or fleet support.
Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):
• Knowledge of airframe design and manufacturing methods.
• Knowledge of composite design and analysis methods.
• Knowledge of static, fatigue, and damage-tolerance analysis.
• Engineering knowledge (mechanical/structural): design, loads, thermal/fluid analysis, and certification.
• Experience defining and optimizing processes across the product lifecycle.
• Knowledge of cost and estimating techniques for decision making.
