Role Summary
As Supplier Development Engineer at Ansty Park, you will work with procurement and our suppliers (onsite as needed) to resolve chronic supply shortages and will act as liaison between Supply Chain and Parker Meggitt internal groups.
You’ll be involved (and occasionally lead) projects to improve delivery, quality and cost performance. This position is a technical point of contact for both suppliers and supply chain.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead activities and teams to increase the velocity of transfer of work from incumbent to new supplier
- Conduct and review production readiness audits (PRA) at suppliers and address continuous improvement proposals to improve OTP, part cost and efficiency
- Manage and lead supplier continuous improvement proposals
- Provide development support for both current and new suppliers, including APQP and PPAP elements
- Recognise supplier performance trends and proactively identify areas for improvement to mitigate risk
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
- Degree in Engineering, or a combination of relevant education and experience
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience within manufacturing
- Ability to travel up to 50
- Efficient, with timely completion of tasks
- Results driven
- Working knowledge of process improvement and zero defects tools (DFMEA, PPAP, MSA, SPC, APQP)
- Problem solving skills
- Ability to forge and build on working partnerships with suppliers and internal Parker Meggitt employees
