Supply Chain Engineer - Spec II in GAC Savannah
Unique Skills:
Successful candidate to possess knowledge of manufacturing tooling across various commodities, best practices for tool storage and tracking, predictive tool life cycle management, and project management proficiency.
Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in engineering or a related curriculum required. 10 years in specific technical discipline or 15 years broad engineering experience in several technical disciplines with Bachelors. Experience credit considered for related adv degrees limited to 2 yrs for Masters and 4 yrs for PhD in fields applicable to this job.
Position Purpose:
Work both independently and as a key team member to prepare, execute and evaluate analyses for problem solving and planning improvements for manufacturing issues within the supply-chain, supporting both production and post-production. This includes, but is not limited to, the development and improvements of production methods and procedures related to tooling, layout, production planning & flow, assembly method and material processes & fabrication within the supply-chain. Lead the supplier and internal cross functional teams with technical problem solving and continuous improvement activities.
Job Description
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
- With a focus on supplier performance and the need to conduct inter-organization and supplier interactions; execute the planning, development and coordination of supply-chain manufacturing related issue resolution projects. These shall include the resolution of critical issues and project coordination.
- Perform in project or cross functional team leadership roles and lead activities; provide technical mentoring to suppliers and other group members.
- Provide clear and concise verbal and written technical communication; build relationships with other functional groups to accomplish team goals; regularly prepare executive summaries providing project status and results.
- Through the utilization of existing problem-solving skills, coach others to develop similar skills in an effort to strengthen the organization and supply-chain. Establish executable processes and methods to be utilized by team members and the supply-chain that identify root causes which drives sustainable corrective actions.
- Provide technical guidance to suppliers and drive actions that address improvement opportunities; ensuring, through validation, implementation of actions showing measured improvement.
- Provide on-site technical support and leadership to the supply-chain, Engineering, Operations and Logistics organizations.
Additional Functions:
- Maintain legacy, current and advanced knowledge in the field of manufacturing processes and engineering techniques especially related to aerospace. .
- Drive quality practices both within the supply-chain and the Company. .
Perform other duties as assigned.
Other Requirements:
- Must have a thorough and complete understanding and extensive application of technical principles, theories, and concepts related to manufacturing in general, and specifically to aerospace. Should have a good working knowledge of related technical fields and will act as a liaison with representatives from other organizations and within the supply-chain.
