We now have a new vacancy for a Systems Safety Engineer within our Safety Assurance team in Airbus Defence and Space. This role is based at either our Portsmouth, Stevenage or Newport site in a hybrid working capacity.

In this role, you will be working directly with our project teams within Secure Communications - we’re focusing on succession planning and building out the structure and scope of this team. 

This team and role allows for end-to-end project engagement. You will get involved with Safety and Environmental Management Systems covering the full lifecycle of large, complex satellite communication projects for worldwide customers.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM 

  • Produce deliverable documentation (Safety and Environmental Management Plans / Safety and Environmental Cases) to UK MOD Standards

  • Manage Safety, Environmental and Product Regulatory compliance issues to resolution

  • Undertaking / facilitating required Safety and Environmental analysis (PHI, PHA, HAZOP, FTA, ETA)

  • Provide advice, guidance and expertise to project and product teams - acting as focal point for product regulatory compliance matters lead and manage Safety, Environmental and Product


ABOUT YOU

  • Knowledge of UK MOD Safety and Environmental Management processes (DEF STAN 00-056, 00-051, 00-055, POSMS, POEMS)

  • Commercial experience of Safety Management Systems within a system engineering environment and Production of associated documentation

  • Working knowledge of Safety and Environmental Product Regulatory Compliance legislation
