THE WORK
Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a talented level 3 Systems Engineer/Systems Admin with an active Secret clearance to join the GPS IIR/IIR-M/III On Orbit Services (GPS OOS) team.

You will be a part of a multifunctional team consisting of Sub-contractors, GPS Operations Specialists, Software and Systems Engineers whose responsibilities include performing launch and early orbit (LEO), supporting on-orbit operations, and sustaining support systems, labs and GPS simulators.

This position will be based at Schriever Space Force Base (SSFB) and require occasional travel to Denver, CO and Los Angeles, CA. Occasional off-shift hours required to support mission activities.

As a Systems Engineer System Administrator on GPS, your responsibilities will include:
• Perform system administration tasks such as creation of user accounts, maintain system backups, and provide user support
• Collaborate with 3rd party suppliers, government customers, and other system personnel to meet mission requirements
• Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements
• Troubleshoot issues and outages
• Experience performing security scans, artifacts gathering, and supporting security accreditation events
• Provide input on studies for enhanced capabilities and proposal efforts
• Assist in systems/hardware integration, test planning and execution

This is an EARLY-MID CAREER (level 3) ROLE where candidates typically require 3+ years of professional experience and a BS degree.

Basic Qualifications:
• Active Secret Clearance
• Must meet DoD 8570 Requirement (current Security+ or similar)
• Bachelors degree in an Engineering or closely related field, or equivalent related work experience.
• Proven experience in ONE OR MORE of the following areas:
a) Windows system (system imaging, patching, network integration, daily monitoring, troubleshooting issues)
b) Experience managing system security mechanisms (e.g. intrusion detection systems, ACLs)
c) Management of network LAN/WAN and associated equipment
d) Experience in aspects of planning and executing system integration activities (e.g. requirements creation, Interface Control Document (ICD) development, test planning and execution)
• Knowledge and experience in executing system engineering and/or software engineering processes to meet mission requirements
Desired Skills:
• Solaris, Red Hat Enterprise Linux and/or VMWare (or other virtualization platform) administration experience helpful
• Windows Active Directory management and other Windows services for domains (Group Policy Object administration, DNS, etc.)
• Risk Management Framework (RMF)/Information Assurance – knowledge on how to apply policies and hardening systems/devices/applications
• Experience in the management and/or creation of tools written in the following languages: C/C++, Vb.Net/C, VBA (Visual Basic for Applications), Matlab, SQL
• Experience in participating in trade studies or proposal work
• Ground segment or telemetry monitoring system experience helpful
• Ability to operate in a dynamic environment and tackle numerous roles as part of the daily program operations
• Demonstrated behaviors of a systems thinker with the ability to select and apply appropriate systems thinking skills to solve problems and implement constructive change

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $89,300 - $157,550. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidates work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as spanet and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
