The successful candidate will join a diverse Engineering Development team at RMS Mitchel Field, and support Trident Navigation program and initiatives. This position will require the individual to perform the following responsibilities:

- The candidate will be a key contributor to the design, development and test of systems in support of the U.S Navys strategic navigation submarine programs.

- Responsible for these duties on a regular basis:

- Development and Analysis of system requirements, development of System Architecture and lead of Preliminary and detailed system design reviews.

- Development of functional and performance models, development of requirements, specifications and test procedures.

- Conducting Subsystem and System Integration and Test, conduct formal system acceptance testing,

- Problem documentation and resolution in support of in-house and fielded systems and liaise with Navy customer for artifact approvals.

- Planning, organizing, prioritizing, and coordinating activities to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and effectively with little supervision.

- Interfacing with navigation subject matter experts (SMEs) to incorporate various functions of the INS, GPS and SONAR subsystems into the ‘digital twin’ capability.

- Integrating multiple system components to form a system of systems solution.

- Working across multiple projects simultaneously, make effective and timely decisions, solve challenging technical problems, and facilitate process changes to streamline activities.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline (software engineering, computer science/engineering, electrical engineering, systems engineering), or equivalent experience/combined education.

Candidate must be able to obtain & maintain a secret security clearance

Experience with DOORS or other similar requirements management tool

Experience generating system level, software and interface requirements using a Model-based System Engineering Method.

Experience with all aspects of Model-Based Systems Engineering including behavioral analysis, system modeling, requirement traceability, performance analysis, simulation and test automation.
Desired Skills:
Experience with agile development methodologies.
Experience with inertial navigators
Experience with MATLAB for post-test analysis
Experience with higher level software languages
Experience in model-based engineering using SysML or UML.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off

The base range for this position in New York is $121,260.79 - $180,416.40.

The wage range and benefits summary is a general guideline and is governed by the applicable collective bargaining agreement when extending an offer.
