Description:Lockheed Martin has an exciting opportunity as a Test Engineer in our Grand Prairie, TX location. Candidate will:

• Support the preparation, planning, setup, and execution of vibration and temperature tests on electronic components.

• Operate test equipment to generate the following environmental conditions: vibration, shock, temperature cycling, thermal shock, humidity, altitude, and static acceleration.

• Operate digital vibration controllers to produce broad band random, swept sine, classical shock and shock synthesis tests using electrical-mechanical vibration exciters.

• Maintain and perform minor repair of vibration test equipment.

• Conduct dynamic and climatic tests in accordance with approved procedures, safety standards, and organizational policy and ensure proper equipment calibration.

• Instrument test items with thermocouples and conduct tests by operating temperature/humidity chambers to specified conditions.

• Instrument test items with accelerometers and conduct tests by operating vibration equipment to specified levels.

• Interact with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Customers through effective communication and writing skills.

• Recommend and implement changes to lab equipment and standard lab procedures to improve laboratory operability, reliability, and safety.

• Respond to off-shift laboratory tasks and be able to complete occasional short-term test assignments at off-site locations.
Basic Qualifications:
MUST be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain a security clearance.

Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline.
Desired Skills:
Experience in Environmental Test Lab.
• Knowledge of basic electronics theory and high degree of mechanical aptitude.
• An understanding of the fundamental concepts of structural dynamics, random vibration theory, and digital signal analysis
• Familiarity with accelerometer, thermocouple, and strain gage instrumentation
• Ability to set up and run vibration test equipment and temperature/humidity chambers
• Familiarity with oscilloscopes, voltmeters, and other basic lab equipment
• Ability to support preparation, planning, setup, and execution of environmental development, qualification, and production tests on electronic components
• A thorough understanding of the operation of electrical-mechanical shakers and the concepts of digital vibration controllers
• Basic understanding of aerospace environments, there derivation and application in a test lab setting.
• Ability to design vibration test fixtures with consideration for the effects of structural resonance.
• Basic understanding of fundamental concepts of random vibration and signal processing.
• Basic knowledge of vibration system components with the ability to troubleshoot and repair vibration systems.
• Basic knowledge of refrigeration systems with the ability to troubleshoot and repair refrigeration equipment.
• Ability to climb stairs, and operate mechanical/pneumatic hand tools.
• Effective technical writing skills for development of test reports and procedures.
• Able to work with minimum supervision.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
