Job Description SummaryThe Engineering Operations and Costs Leader is a key role for the Organization. You will work within the Third Parties NPI Team and you will support the Section Manager in achieving cost targets for the assigned NPI projects (both Recurring and Not Recurring).

You will provide workload analyses to support Section strategy for work split among teams and with outsourcing, and support Systems Engineers and People Leaders in drafting project plans to converge on a common view.
You will lead Costs Out initiatives for Helicopters Rotor Drive Systems, promote the use of cost tools and improve cost culture (Recurring and Not Recurring) within the Section.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • To collect budget needs, comparing with Section and dotted line teams capacity in order to support Section Manager in properly size the strategic outsourcing. Harmonize inputs from System Engineers to report out to the Leadership and to Engineering Operations. Support System Engineers in monitoring Not Recurring Costs for workforce and hardware release and in performing costs analysis, and support QMI with Engineering Operations. Support Section Manager in projecting cost evolutions to enable managerial actions aimed at properly steering resource allocation.

  • To perform workload analyses and draft overall Section project plans to converge on a common view and enabling a lean priority setup managing unexpected events during execution.

  • To support Operational rhythm within the section, preparing recurring spending review and conducting LOB for each program, supporting Systems Engineers and People Leaders on planning, gap analysis and escalation, fostering accountability and leveraging visual management. To identify and implement KPI, to lead tools/routines development for lean monitoring and forecast estimation.

  • To support System Engineers and Subsection Managers on outsourcing process, verifying budget availability, supporting in releasing purchase orders (POP), monitoring expenses and VCL/SAL approvals, reporting out to Engineering Operations.

  • To act as the Engineering Cost Out Leader for the assigned Third Parties NPI programs, supporting from engineering the cross-functional cost out teams and ensuring consistent approach among initiatives. Participate to the Program Cost Out Teams together with the other company functions such as Program Manager, GSC, Sourcing and support cost report out to Avio Aero SLT.
    To be accountable for generating and executing the overall cost out plans for OP target, 50th delivery monitoring and EIS for each cost out idea in close dialogue with System Engineers and Subsection Managers.

  • To promote the use of cost out tools, such as Derivative, Cost Biter, Should Cost analysis (where available), Producibility Index for the Third Parties NPI Programs, in a continuous dialogue with Avio Aero System Engineers, Cost Focal and Hardware Owners which are split among Rivalta, and Avio Polska dotted line teams. To support cost out innovation technologies ideas and plan them within Product cost roll-out with the proper TRL/ MRL maturation plan

Qualifications/Resuirements

  • Master’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university

  • Some experience in complex business in Engineering, GSC or PM functions

  • Experience in cost reduction projects, manufacturing/ sourcing/program management roles

  • Basic experience in leading multi-functional and remote teams

  • Fluent in English and Italian language, both oral and written

  • Work Visa, according to local regulation, is required
