Description:Tool Engineer Sr - Portable/Perishable Tool Specialist - Greenville SC

Effectively work as a member of the Drilling Center of Excellence in Greenville, South Carolina in establishing and maintaining reduced risk in manufacturing processes. Support and integrate key enablers for F-16 manufacturing into the production line to reduce HPU, SRR and Span Time. Develop standard work approaches and integrate related processes across the F-16 platform. Responsible for performing product/process surveillance, developing risk mitigation plans, supports training/process coaching required to implement new procedures. Perform other related duties and assignments as required to enhance process flow. Implement drilling strategies that emphasize quality, producibility while driving hole-making operations to the lowest cost-per-hole feasible. Familiarity and understanding of F-16 hand and power-drilling and machining equipment and F-16 tolerance requirements and production processes a plus. Experience with data analysis, identify manufacturing process deficiencies, develop, and implement risk mitigation solutions. Experience with methodologies to correct and prevent human factors in aviation and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives is required. Self-starter capable and comfortable of working in small teams or individually when required.

Must be a US Citizen. This position will require a government security clearance. This position is at a facility that requires special access.
Basic Qualifications:
Experience in cutting tool design, geometry, resharpening techniques along with modification and repair of aircraft structures.

Experience in resolving engineering, planning, tooling and assembly problems related to aircraft structural assemblies

Root Cause Analysis/Corrective Action experience

Experience with aircraft composite and machine parts fabrication, assembly and related processes.

Experience with standard hole preparation processes such as drilling, reaming and countersinking
Desired Skills:
Familiarity and understanding of F-16 hand and power-drilling and machining equipment and F-16 tolerance requirements and production processes a plus.

Strong oral and written communication and inter-personal skills to effectively communicate and engage across all organizational boundaries.

Knowledge of advanced industry best practices for a broad range of manufacturing techniques and equipment

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
