Position Overview:Job Title: Tool Engineer
Job Type: Full-Time Consultant (6-month contract)
Location: Palmdale, CA 93550
Schedule: Monday–Friday; 9/80 schedule
Pay Rate: $47.82 per hour
In this role, you’ll serve as a critical member of the Tool Integration and Offsite department, working hands-on at the Palmdale site to design, fabricate, and implement advanced tooling solutions that support the manufacture of next-generation aerospace systems.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
What Youll Do:Collaborate with internal and external teams to design and deliver tooling that meets program specifications
Lead and coordinate design and fabrication requirements across stakeholders
Support every stage of the engineering process—from conceptual design to production implementation
Manage tooling projects for composite, metallic, and coated structures
Use 3D CAD platforms (CATIA, NX, CREO, etc.) to develop and review tooling designs
Provide technical insight into the manufacturing feasibility and functionality of tooling concepts
Required Qualifications:Proven experience in medium to large-scale tooling fabrication, including composite and metallic structures
Hands-on knowledge of production fabrication processes, coatings, and manufacturing operations
Experience using 3D CAD systems such as CATIA, NX, or CREO
Strong communication and project coordination skills
Preferred Qualifications:STEM degree (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics)
In-depth experience with composite tooling and associated processes
Direct experience in tool design and fabrication within aerospace or defense industries
Background in developing innovative, large-scale tooling solutions for complex manufacturing programs

Pay Details: $47.82 per hour
