You will be the Tool Engineering Associate Manager for the Tool Engineering team. Our team is responsible for designing, procuring, maintaining, and producing tooling across the site while driving enterprise‑wide process improvements.



What You Will Be Doing


As the Tool Engineering Associate Manager you will be responsible for leading a cross‑functional team that manages the full tool lifecycle—from design and ordering to preventive maintenance, additive‑manufacturing production, and machine‑shop operations.


Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:



  • Lead a cross‑functional team in the design, procurement, and maintenance of tooling.

  • Oversee the complete tool lifecycle, including additive‑manufacturing and machine‑shop production.

  • Drive continuous improvement of 1LMX tool processes enterprise‑wide.

  • Manage tooling budgets, schedules, and supplier relationships to ensure on‑time delivery.

  • Mentor engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and innovation.

Basic Qualifications:
- BS Mechanical engineering, Aerospace engineering, or similar
- 5+ years experience as a tool engineer
- Experience developing/teaching tool design
Desired Skills:
- Experience leading process development for tools across sites
- Experience with traditional machine shop subtractive technologies
- Experience with additive and design for additive
- Experience directly supporting a manufacturing floor
- Creo experience
- Windchill Experience

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
