The Boeing Company has an exciting opportunity for a Vehicle Management System (VMS) Design & Analysis Engineer to become part of Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) VMS team in Berkeley, MO.

You will enable the VMS organization to continue to advance its technologies in support of our Phantom Works and Fixed-Wing programs. The team is responsible for developing integration test assets, real-time software test environments, subsystem/system testing, and evaluating system performance in simulation lab environment. Simulation and modeling are utilized to assist in requirements development, software and hardware development, and reequipments verification and validation.

BT&E is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including: Associate, Mid-Level and Senior level VMS Design & Analysis Engineers.

Position Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop and document moderately complex electronic and electrical system requirements
  • Design hardware, software and interface specifications
  • Test and validate to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements
  • Assist in monitoring supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements
  • Solve problems concerning fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle
  • Research specific technology advances for potential application to company business needs

This position is expected to be 100 onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

This position requires ability to obtain program access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelors, Masters or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • 1+ years of experience testing and troubleshooting electronics and electrical systems

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1+ years of experience conducting component, sub-system, system or system-of-systems tests
  • 1+ years analyzing engineering designs to define testing requirements
  • Experience preparing test plans, schedules and documentation
  • Experience with MATLAB, Simulink, and/or real-time operating systems

Typical Education/Experience:

Associate (Level 2)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Mid-Level (Level 3)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Senior (Level 4)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years related work experience, Master+7 years related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary pay range for associate level: $79,900 – $108,100

Summary pay range for mid-level level: $96,050 – $129,950

Summary pay range for senior level: $119,850 – $162,150
