The Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS), Space Weapons and Information Systems is seeking a Wideband Global Satellite Ground Satellite Configuration & Control Element (GSCCE) Ground IPT Lead for the F-11 project and future development projects.  This job location will be located in Colorado Springs, CO.

 

The IPT lead will oversee a large team of engineers, software developers, and other staff developing software and some hardware upgrades for the upcoming WGS F-11 launch.  The GSCCE F-11 IPT lead will be responsible for organizing and ensuring the effective completion of upgrade to F-11 software.  The IPT Lead will interface with the Chief Engineer, Systems Engineer Lead, Product Owners, Technical Owners, Scrum Masters, and others on the program to ensure proper communication throughout the team and execution of the contract in association with the Program Manager and Management team. WGS is a constellation of geostationary communication satellites providing a large bandwidth for MILSATCOM communications across platforms for the US Army and Space Force.  This project position will be leading the ground team adding F-11 functionality to control the WGS F-11 payload.

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for delivering the F-11 project to the Space Force Customer

  • Lead the IPT team to ensure successful delivery of products and systems that meet customer requirements and specifications.

  • Assist Program Manager in staffing hiring and decisions

  • Assist Program Manager in Cost Account Management (CAM)

  • Subcontract management

  • Collaborate with other IPT leads, program managers, and customers to establish technical requirements, develop project plans, and identify risks and opportunities.

  • Assist PM in scheduling of the F-11 project

  • Report to PM and interface to upper management and customers

  • Own the statement of work and understand what is in and out of scope with the PM

  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and performance metrics to track progress and identify areas for improvement.

  • Manage and allocate resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to meet project requirements and ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.

  • Ensure compliance with industry and company standards and procedures, including safety, quality, and security.

  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the IPT team.

  • Communicate project status and performance to stakeholders, including customers, program managers, and executive leadership.

  • Manage customer relationships and provide exceptional customer service throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Help lead all GSCCE Development projects

  • Create inputs for new business proposals

 

This position is expected to be 100 onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

 

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate degree from an accredited course of study, in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or other technical degree

  • An active U.S. Security Clearance in the past 24 months

  • 5+ years of experience leading a technical project or team


Preferred Qualification (Desired Skills/Experience):

  •  5+ years of experience working in a multi-functional team environment

  • Familiar with Agile development methodology

  • Familiarity with Atlassian Products (e.g. Jira, Confluence, etc.)

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Project, Primavera, or other project management tools

  • Communication and interpersonal skills to develop and maintain relationships with Senior Leadership, Affiliation Management & Councils, internal network, and external entities

  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • 3+ years of experience as a CAM (cost account manager) in EVM (earned value management)

  • 3+ years of experience within project leadership including planning, implementing and executing program plans

 

Typical Education & Experience:

 

(Senior, Level 4)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g., Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g., PhD+4 years related work experience, Master+7 years related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

 

(Lead, Level 5)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g., Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g., PhD+9 years related work experience, Master+12 years related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

 

Relocation:

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary Pay Range (Senior, Level 4):  $119,850 - $162,150

Summary Pay Range (Lead, Level 5):  $147,050 - $198,950
