Job Description:

Airbus US Manufacturing Facility is looking for a X-Plant Manufacturing Engineer to join our Final Assembly Line (FAL) based in Mobile, AL.

Responsible for managing/monitoring all non-conformities, design deviations, OSW, and late changes to support production. Responds to technical questions, creates work orders based on non-conformities, and attends section handovers. Establishes and maintains effective communication with European Plants, on-site Production teams, Quality, Suppliers, Design Engineers, and Aircraft Managers.

Nearby on ‘Airbus Way’ you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. Your challenges:

  • Serve as FAL focal point regarding Plant activities and their suppliers through constant coordination and monitoring.

  • Provide technical support to X-Plant production.

  • Act as primary responsible for Plant activities with full knowledge scope to work autonomously without supervision.

  • Establish/verify the technical content of non-conformities and validate in documentation.

  • Steer/challenge all non-conformities, concessions, and OSW within assigned all Plant and Supplier responsibility.

  • Organize/facilitate regular meetings with suppliers/partners (Folio reviews, drumbeat, multi-function team (MFT), etc.).

  • Ensure non-compliance management according to Airbus and Authority rules.

  • Participate as an active team member learning and following dedicated training plans from current team members. including providing orientation support to new colleagues and trainees.

  • Additional projects as assigned

  • Perform other duties as assigned.




 

Your boarding pass:

  • Required Bachelor’s Degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Preferred: 0-2 years of relevant work experience within a manufacturing environment, preferably with an aviation company.

  • 10 Domestic and International.

  • Possess the motivation to learn. 

  • Able to read and interpret 2D engineering drawings and technical standards.

  • Knowledge of the principles, practices, methods and tools used in manufacturing engineering.

  • Knowledge of rules for aircraft design and manufacturing.

  • Ability  to  work  in  a  team  environment,  cross-functional  team  environment,  as  well  as  independently  and with customers and channels.

  • Critical thinking with the ability to problem solve.

  • Experience in a Manufacturing environment. (Recommended)

  • Experience with 3D modeling software (Catia, SolidWorks, Etc.).(Recommended).

  • Have the ability to establish and maintain a good relationship with all internal customers.

  • Have the ability to work in an international team.

  • Must possess excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.

  • Must be able to present clear and concise briefings and reports to customers and executives.

  • Proficiency in other languages is recommended but not essential.

  • Knowledge of Airbus processes and methods.

  • Google Suite (Google Mail, Docs, and Sheets).

  • Airbus IT-Tools (AIRINA, TAKSY, ECM, eQLB, ALB).

  • Knowledge of common applications such as SAP.
