Position Summary:
Tactical Air Support is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead all aspects of financial strategy, operations, and performance for a dynamic defense and aviation training services enterprise. As a core member of the Executive Leadership Team, the CFO ensures fiscal discipline, strategic growth, and compliance with all federal contracting and industry standards. The CFO will partner with the CEO, Board of Directors, and business unit leaders to align financial resources with Tactical Air's operational and strategic objectives.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on, strategic, and analytically rigorous financial leader with deep experience in defense and government contracting compliance, enterprise transformation, and financial scalability. The CFO will drive operational excellence while strengthening Tactical Air's position as a trusted, mission-ready partner to the U.S. and allied defense communities.
Responsibilities:
Leadership
- Lead development and execution of Tactical Air's enterprise financial strategy, ensuring alignment with corporate growth, mission performance, and shareholder value.
- Serve as the principal financial advisor to the CEO and Board, providing clear, data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making.
Financial Operations
- Direct all financial management functions, including accounting, FP&A, treasury, audit, compliance, and program finance.
- Oversee the development of accurate budgets, forecasts, and financial models that support tactical execution and long-term planning.
Corporate Finance
- Structure and oversee financing activities, debt facilities, and investor relations to support sustainable growth, capital efficiency, and shareholder confidence.
Compliance & Controls
- Lead enterprise risk management including financial, contractual, and operational risk mitigation frameworks.
- Oversee tax strategy, insurance, and regulatory reporting to ensure integrity and transparency in all financial matters.
Organizational Development
- Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing Finance and Accounting team capable of supporting rapid growth and evolving business needs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field. Master's or MBA strongly preferred.
- CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional credential preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of progressive financial leadership to include the implementation of effective financial systems, processes, and controls, with at least 7 years in a senior executive role within defense, aerospace, or government contracting.
- Deep knowledge of corporate finance, accounting, and treasury practices, financial strategy, and financial operations.
- Proven expertise in DOD financial management, cost accounting standards, DCAA, DCMA, FAR/DFARS and other government contract compliance.
- Deep proficiency in ERP systems (preferably Unanet), business intelligence tools, and advanced financial modeling.
- Demonstrated success managing complex capital structures, M&A, and investor relations.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills to engage investors, board members, and employees.
- Valid state driver's license.
- Current security clearance or eligibility to obtain a clearance.
- Must be lawfully eligible to work in the United States, complete a U.S. government I-9 form, and successfully pass a government background check.
Work Authorization and Environment

Specific work hours determined by executive schedule; occasional evening or weekend work may be required.
Travel to support business meetings, conferences, and oversight of financial operations and to company sites or meetings will be required.
