Why Join The Team?
A position is currently open for a motivated and experienced Senior Financial Analyst to join our dynamic finance team. The candidate will report to Leanne Selig and will be responsible to support the financial planning and analysis of various business processes, which include budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis. Additionally, the candidate will be highly skilled in multiple aspects of data analytics. The position requires that the candidate be self-motivated with a desire for data analysis and an ability to adeptly navigate SAP, Business Warehouse (BW), Power BI and Excel. A proactive approach with excellent analytical skills, ability to present the analysis results in a high-level format, as well as positive communication skills are highly desired.
This is a full-time position from Monday to Friday with somewhat flexible hours, based in Enfield, Nova Scotia, and performed exclusively on-site.
What will your day-to-day look like?
- Work in collaboration with the production teams and the manufacturing leadership teams in an office and shop environment.
- Support in the annual Budget process by gathering and organizing and analyzing data for various budget proposals.
- Understand business goals and gather information with cross-functional teams to establish data requirements.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and help implement new data-driven strategies.
- Support the Business team on various requests. These include purchase orders, blocked and parked invoicing and follow-up.
- Supporting the establishment and monitoring of project cost structures.
- Managing Internal controls primarily for Assets Under Construction (AUC) and Scrap Rework and Repair (SRR), as well as follow-up and forecasting.
- Support external audits and inquiries by providing necessary documentation and insights.
What do you need to be successful?
- Bachelor’s in business or accounting.
- 3+ years of experience in finance related positions
- Demonstrates initiative to learn and improve processes
- Strong positive communication and networking skills
- Strong understanding of capital processes and procedures, including accounting functions such as fixed assets, project structures and general ledger (G/L) management.
- Energetic self-starter with good organizational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge and skills of the computer tools related to the task: Microsoft Office functions (Excel: Pivot Tables, Lookups, Macros, etc.), SAP, Business warehouse and PBI
