Financial Analyst Summary:

The Financial Analyst will be responsible for product costing activities for the Toronto site and month-end closing duties for NA Mills, in accordance with GAAP, as well as TIMET/PCC Corporate policies. Position involves direct interaction with plant level personnel, commercial sales personnel, local operations manager in the preparation of product costing actives and inventory control, and Sarbanes Oxley responsibilities

Financial Analyst Essential Functions:

Knowledge and understanding of fundamental cost accounting principles.

Understanding of the SAP structure and related transaction and reporting capabilities.

Experience with internal control and Sarbanes Oxley

Experience in physical inventory planning and reconciliation

Key player with the monthly closing process including journal entries, account analysis and reconciliations

Financial Analyst Additional Responsibilities

Inventory and product cost development and analysis

Coordination of physical inventories and reconciliation; Metal, storeroom, and fixed assets for NA Mills

Tax filings; Ohio sales and use tax, IFTA, KWH taxes

Fixed asset accounting

Assist with audit requests including SOX and internal and external auditors

Interact between the Mill and Service Center to resolve SAP transactional issues

Assist SOX Manager with various Sarbanes Oxley responsibilities.

Ad hoc analysis of business trends, scenario planning, special projects and other duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent experience.

  • Microsoft Office software experience with particular Excel strengths.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to analyze problems and present resolutions.

  • Preparation and posting of journal vouchers.
